Is it more important for me to live a good life or is it more important for me to believe in god, if I am to go to heaven?

I do not believe in heaven and hell as anything more than a concept within others minds. I wish to know if others see me as evil. I am wondering why I am damned in your mind for being who I am.

I do not fear nor believe I am going eather to heaven or hell. I see heaven and hell as concepts heald in others minds. I am wondering what my fate is in your mind. Also let me revise the "I do not believe in god". If a god does exist then I would resist it with all my will. I would rather go to hell than accept Jesus into my heart. I dify your god.

According to the Bible, yes. According to reality, no.

NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT.
The idea that there is a god "up there" keeping score of all the things done on earth, handing out unspeakable horrors to some, and everlasting bliss to others is madness, if you give it some thought.
If there is some force responsible for the creation of the universe ~ setting the whole thing in motion, as it were ~ and if we were created to eventually evolve into who we become, then presumably using our critical faculties is part of it all. We were, after all, given a brain. NOT to use it would be wrong.
If your logic and reason tell you that there is no god, or certainly none resembling the one created by most religions, then you have not done anything wrong whatsoever. To make said god out to be one that just wanted those of "blind faith" around in the hereafter, is to bring said god down to man's level. I really think that in the grand scheme of things, treating others the way you would like to be treated is far more important. Being genuinely kind and compassionate is what is worthwhile.
So no, it is not important.
Actually, having died and come back once, I sort of feel as though I have cheated on an exam, the answers to which I spent many years worrying over.
You do not cease to exist, it is indescribably, phenomenally incredible on the "other side", (no words in any language to describe it) and I went there despite my beliefs, or lack thereof. so relax..... you are not going to hell for not believing in god. (personally, I don't believe there is such an illogical place)

Hi
Hell is a very old concept. In the bible the original word in Hebrew (old testament) was Sheol, which translates as grave. It was not a place of burning, torture, etc.
Pagan beliefs were different. Egypt had the book of the dead, the journey of the soul and judgement of the soul which for the unfortunate could result in torment......the pagan concepts evolved through the nations much same and the Greeks adopted Hades as a place of burning and eternal torment.
In the bible (New Testament), there are references to Hades which of course was a Greek translation.
Hades referred to a place in the Jerusalem area where the Romans would burn bodies day and night after the horrible crucifictions that they did in the thouasands to terrorize the local populace.
It was literally a dump of eternal burning fire consuming bodies....very hoorrific. However keep in mind that those bodies were dead and the souls were not being tormented.
The bible does NOT support an eternal afterlife of torment and torture. I understand you don't believe in GOD. Earlier in my life I didn't believe in GOD either, however through much research I have learned that the GOD promoted in this world by so many institutions and organizations is not the same GOD of creation and the bible.
GOD is loving as a father and creator and would take zero pleasure in tormenting even a son who chooses to leave HIM.
The bible speaks of the dead having no afterlife...therefore they have no awareness and certainly no torture.

It will give you the biblical answers and debunk all the paganized christian bathwater that has been added to HIS word.
I hope this is helpful

It would seem to be impossible for you to go to Heaven if you don't believe in the being who created it. But, you shouldn't worry about going to Hell either, becuase if you don't believe in God, you certainly can't believe in the Devil!

Living a good life is important, especially if your definition of 'good life' means doing acts of charity and compassion without bringing attention to yourself. In the meantme, if you're worried at all about going to Hell, then you probably do have the beginnings of faith, which is necessary for you to have a belief in God.

I would have to answer your question with one word--NONE. There will be people who live a good life and believe in a god that will go to hell. In order to go to heaven, one must acknowledge the fact that he is a sinner in need of the redeeming grace of God. He must ask Jesus Christ to come and live in his heart. It is only through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ than any person can live in eternity with God. Jesus said in John 14:6: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." All other ways lead to hell.

As for not believing in a God, I would encourage you to pick up a Bible and read through it. In the Scriptures, God proves himself over and over again.

If you do not want to do that then step outside and look at all that is around you. Look to the skies and see the beauty of the stars in the heavens. Psalm 19:1-2 states: "The heavens are telling the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge." God made His existence obvious through His creation.

it is not a matter of if
it works like this if you believe in god you emerge into the light,
darkness is where god isnt or is conciously rejected ,
its not as if its a perhaps or not you can be the best person and yet go to hell simplty because you reject the light
there are however different levels
the area called limbo though teqniclly in hell is a place where you are taught about god from there some move up virtually straight away as the truth becomes realised
you can of course reject god still but no god no light
its simple ,its not spite goodness still counts and the depraved levels arnt fallen into but no belief the light just cant free you
it seems silly but children go there too [limbo]they have to choose to be with god as well
god isnt going to insist he is real
and really in that part of hell it isnt pitch black sort of twilight ,the really evil decend into almost solid darkness
gone west at angel fire describes how i feel it is ,it seems stupid i know ,but with your inherent good ness [and mine] we soon recieve our own faith and accend into the light
i expect to be in the same place
i love god know hes real just cant believe it
its not a sin its just how it seems to be.

Rom. 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

(it doesn't matter how good you may think you are or how much you try to be good, it's not going to work, only way you get to go to heaven is accepting Jesus and obeying Him.

If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's

[2:255] GOD: there is no other god besides Him, the Living, the Eternal. Never a moment of unawareness or slumber overtakes Him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Who could intercede with Him, except in accordance with His will? He knows their past, and their future. No one attains any knowledge, except as He wills. His dominion encompasses the heavens and the earth, and ruling them never burdens Him. He is the Most High, the Great.

[2:256] There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.

[2:257] GOD is Lord of those who believe; He leads them out of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are their idols; they lead them out of the light into darkness - these will be the dwellers of Hell; they abide in it forever.

[2:258] Have you noted the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord, though GOD had given him kingship? Abraham said, "My Lord grants life and death." He said, "I grant life and death." Abraham said, "GOD brings the sun from the east, can you bring it from the west?" The disbeliever was stumped. GOD does not guide the wicked

don't worry about it.......if you do not believe in God then heaven and hell does not exist to you either. just live your life the best way you can and stop worrying about places you do not believe are there.
