The idea of natural selection is that animals want to pass on their genes. Animals who survive are able to reproduce their characteristics, and because they survive those characteristics are adaptive. Right?

I feel that my personal experience is inconstant with the evolutionary forces that are said to drive nature.

I have no desire to reproduce. In fact, I would hate to pass on my genes simply because I don’t want kids.
My mate selection has nothing to do with reproduction. I like who my wife is, and the fun that I have with her. (I think my wife is hot, but the concept of beauty is shaped more by one’s culture than one’s biological disposition).

I think that many people feel the same way about this area of their life.

If evolutionary principles govern life on this plant, and I am subject to them, why are my desires contrary to them? How can that be explain from a evolutionary theoretical model?

Christians are easy to understand. You just can't understand how the universe came about on it's own. Also, you dont want to take a chance on going to hell. Unexplained experiences fuels your beliefs.

In 1692, Sarah Good was charged of witchcraft. They later found out that was was caused by ergot. ergot is a disease of rye(wheat or grain) caused by a fungus which replaces the affected grain with a long hard, blackish sclerotal body. This, when ingested, causes people to go crazy... diarrhea, nausea, craming, vomiting and abnormal cardiac rhythms; in severe cases it can cause seizures and gangrene of the limbs.

if one is anathema that means they're cut-out and cannot obtain salvation... mormons preach another gospel, meaning they're gospel and they're belief is anathema and that's why they shouldn't be considered christian, true?

Are the rest of you as ashamed of yourselves as me? I can't believe the amount of time I have wasted actually trying to convince myself that somehow I could stimulate an intelligent exchange with people who believe in goblins and magic or whatever the characters of holy stories are supposed to be.

What the hell is wrong with us? It's like trying to disuss views on national healthcare reform with Binky, your pet turtle.

I heard this song last night on KLOVE. I only know part of the lyrics and I am not sure if this is exactly the right words, but here it goes. Please tell me the Song title and the lyrics:

Someone is sad near you...
Jesus is near you.

A woman sang it.

I tried Google, but I couldn't find it. Thanks!
