Well, it's a way of distancing themselves from other Christians who might be embarrassing them. "He said that? Oh, a true Christian would never say that!"

And the last time a server was rude to me in a restaurant, her manager said, "She said that? None of our employees would ever say that!"

Well, I contend that she did...and a Christian is a Christian. If you believe in God and Christ and all of that, you're a Christian. Being a douche doesn't mean you're not a Christian, it just means you're a Christian douche.

True Christians shouldn't argue about who is a true christian because confusion is of the devil. All I have to say is that a Christian is christ like with means that you will follow in Jesus foot steps and sin no more since Jesus never sinned neither was a guile found in his mouth(1st Peter 2:22)

I think its Paramount because there is only one true Christianity. God is not a God who takes everyones prayers and beliefs, he has a set system of rules and guidelines. He wants things done his way or the highway and HE OWNS the highway. So, if you WERE A GOD, wouldn't YOU want things done YOUR WAY? WHY wouldn't God? So, deciding on WHO was following the same christianity as those in the 1st century is crucial to who is closest to THE TRUTH. After all, its not some big wide highway leading to God, but a small, straight, narrow one.

As a Christian, we shouldn't judge other people. But if someone claims that he/she's a true Christian, then he/she should be up to that claim. There shouldn't be an arguement about who's a true christians, b/c u can tell who really is w/o even talking about it. Their actions would say it all. But when it comes to argument, it would be plain ironic, b/c the bible teaches us to judge ourselves first instead of judging others!

I would not say it's either of those.

More so then not, I find it interesting, and unfortunately? those are the sorts of topics that capture my interest for the long run. One of them is going on 9485643 pages now (well, something like that!).

The CCM forum for example, actually has some hilarious responses regarding true faith and what one of them feels is real God, and real Christinaity. It's crazy entertainment at times. So I'll have to revoke my answer, because there are times it is FUNNY.

The Bible clearly says what it means to be a Christian. It also states clearly what Biblical doctrine is.When certain groups claim to be Christian, but in fact hold to false teachings,we are supposed to examine this group according to scripture. It's not arguing about who is a true Christian, but adhering to Biblical beliefs.

Well i don't think its funny, cute or sad. These are god people, and their human first, so who are a couple of none believers to judge one another, when in the bible clearly states, " Thou shall not judge".I ain't no saint. And being a christian doesn't mean your a saint it means your a follower of god.Judge not others, unless you ready to judge your self.

Its none of teh above. Christians need to ask them selves first Are they a true christian? Do they know what it means?. They should'nt argue I'am Jewish but I belive in Jesus and God 150%

It's hypocritical- I recall reading a passage that states "judge not lest ye be Judged" and "let he who is w/out sin cast the first stone" The bottom line is we're all human so I don't think it's for any of us to determine who is or isn't worthy of being called a Christian.

Sad, it shouldn't even be a point of debate. It's fairly clear in the bible what it means to be a Christian.
