And suppose I'm agmostic. Maybe I believe in God or several Gods, but why should I follow organized man-made religions?

I don't want to hear about Jesus this, or Savior that.

For centuries people have written and have created technologies that tries to perfect beauty. Divine proportion, myths, arts etc. all of these caters to our understanding of what is said to be "beautiful"; and have shaped and infuenced our perception of of it. But why do we long for beauty? I personally think that our search for beauty is related with our search for God/god's face. Why? Theologists would say that God has no face since God is a spirit, thus God is only characterized by the things he does and the things that He can do. In GEnesis we are also told that "God created us in HIs own image and in HIs likeness" off course this refers to our "God-like" ability (to think, to reproduce, to love etc.). IF this is so, then isn't it strange that the "good-guys" in myths, fairy tales, perhaps even in the bible look "beautiful". note: BEauty is also characterized by poets such as Dante Aligheri as "life-saving"(remember beatriz)

Would you still be willing to sacrifice your life for a religious cause if you were the parent of a two year old child? Would you sacrifice the ability to raise your child based upon a religion that cannot be empirically quantified? Who's more important, your god or your son?

What are some "cons" on Christianity? Sorry Christians, I have plenty of info on the "Pros" side.

Basicly im asking you to make a true believer a non-believer, and try to make it short & sweet if you can! Being raised a Christian, im finding this next to impossible. Help me understand, thanks...

Personally, I think it would be pretty cool to meet them if they didn't display any signs of hostility. My mom always joked when I was growing up that if that were ever to happen, I'd walk right up to them, introduce myself, and offer to bake them cookies or take them out somewhere. Thinking logically about it, because I have no fear of what I do not know i.e. other cultures and people different from me, I would try to learn about where they came from and their suggestions on how we could improve our selves if they were advanced enough. Just a thought. A crazy one, but hey, a thought anyway.

I have only one deep true belief - that if your beliefs do not harm yourself or someone else, and you TRULY believe them, that you have the right belief. I have great respect for people who have thought out their beliefs. What I have little respect for are people who have not thought about their beliefs past the fact that their parents/friends/bishop says they are right.

People who truly think about what they believe never persecute. I enjoy friendships with those people.

The ones who don't really know why they believe something, persecute because they are scared of anything that is not from their belief system.

I have never been persecuted more than I was going to a Christian school. The entire time I was there, they spent all their time trying to tell me I was wrong, without listening to my beliefs or the fact that I only was asking them to do one thing - think.

Any comments? Christians or non-christians alike, feel free to throw in a few words.

Can someone explain why so many people swear by science when it is constantly changing due to advancements? Not too long ago science was absolutely positive that the earth was flat, that the earth was at the center of the universe, and that Pluto was a planet. Is that what truth is...? Believing that what I conceive to be fact will probably change in a couple of generations when someone comes up with another theory to disprove all the so-called scientific facts (i.e. evolution)?

Everyday you see or hear of an innocent, young person with a life threatening disease and/or death sentence. It seems so unfair! The bible tells us to live a good true life, but yet there are so many out there that do exactly that and die way too young. I have to say that it seems that I have known way more people who are haters and non-believers that continue to receive gifts from the lord. Then on the other hand there are young, innocent people who do not deserve a bad day; get their lives snatched from them way too young! Why does the lord work this way? It does not seem fair! So you can say that the troubled ones needed Gods hand; but what about the innocent children left behind by the good and honorable people that have been taken too soon? I know God works in mysterious ways, but I am fumbling to find the right path to what is supposed to be righteousness! Any thoughts??
