It's no sin. Only a sin to think about your best friends wife when you do it.

If you feel guilty about it just throw into the fantasy the person you're making love to you just married earlier, and you're taking off their gown/tux......

I know masturbating is not a sin. However I am not aware there are any health benefits derived from it. It is just an extreme satisfying pleasure. It actually explodes your nerve centers and momentarily relives you of all anxieties. You know of course every time you masturbate God kills a kitten as a sacrifice to atone for you. I'm afraid I have been responsible for the lives of so many poor kittens.

The people who wrote the bible, must have decided what god had in mind for sexual gratification, because they came up with the idea that was purely a means to procreate, although, even religious fanatics have sex without the intention of creation, also I would think that masturbation might lead to other things that god is totally against, like gay, bi, les, trans gender, cross dressing, unless you are catholic, then gay, and alot of other things aren`t that big a deal, I probably am the wrong guy to give my opinion on this subject, I think religion is a means to control the masses, and to keep televangelists in luxury cars, and round the clock hookers. And it`s all financed by the guy who gives his hard earned money for them to be able to do this, while his family does without things.

Masturbation is not mentioned at all in the Bible. The practice was common in the Greek-speaking world during Bible times, and several Greek words were used to describe the practice. But not one of these words is used in the Bible.

Since masturbation is not directly condemned in the Bible, does this mean it is harmless? Absolutely not! Though it is not classed with such gross sins as fornication, masturbation is surely an unclean habit.

Even those not especially concerned with God’s viewpoint feel uneasy about the practice. For instance, Dr. Aaron Hass in his survey of the sexual practices of 625 teenagers reported: “The majority of adolescents who masturbated reported feeling guilty, ashamed, dirty, stupid, embarrassed, or abnormal.” Surely, masturbation is an unclean habit. But since “uncleanness,” according to the Bible, is a term that allows for a wide range of degree of seriousness, masturbation is not to be classed with such serious sins as fornication or other types of gross sexual immorality. Ephesians 4:19.

The Scriptures counsel: “Deaden, therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness.” (Colossians 3:5) Is one who practices masturbation ‘deadening his body members as respects sexual appetite’? On the contrary, he is stimulating the sexual appetite. The Bible urges that one avoid the thinking and conduct that lead to such problems, replacing them with wholesome activity, and that one cultivate self-control. When earnest effort is put forth to do this, such self-abuse can be avoided, with benefits mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Masturbation also instills certain attitudes that are mentally corrupting. (Compare 2 Corinthians 11:3.) When masturbating, a person is immersed in his or her own bodily sensations, totally self-centered. Sex becomes separated from love and is relegated to a reflex that releases tension. But God intended that sexual desires be satisfied in sexual relations, an expression of love between a man and his wife. .

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

It's not a sin, according to anyone who has their head in something past the 16th century.

Disharmony is the only sin against God. Well, do you cause disharmony when you do it?
