The answerer above is correct. You can't steal a Gideon Bible unless you steal it from a person's house or something.

Unfortunately, it's not quite possible. As best I can gather, the Gideons don't consider it "stealing" to take one of their bibles. They leave them places specifically so people will be able to read them. If someone wants to hang onto it, it's still fulfilling its purpose. I did take one from a Drury Inn once because I kinda liked it, but I probably wouldn't have if I thought they'd mind. I collect bibles. I like to compare different editions.

You cannot steal a Gideons Bible...They leave them for you to take or leave
