And suppose I'm agmostic. Maybe I believe in God or several Gods, but why should I follow organized man-made religions?

I don't want to hear about Jesus this, or Savior that.

You don't have to. To my mind, in this Age of Reason, we should le REASON be our only infallible oracle and guide. Heed not the noise of the various religions, thumping so-called holy books that anybody might write in order to impose upon us!

There is no reason that you SHOULD believe in God. It's a totally personal thing. I went to church for the better part of my life, but when I was 19, I decided to think for myself, and while doing that I realized that I didn't believe in "God" anymore. Even while I was a Christian, I thought it was crazy that I had to go to church to be closer to God. If God is everywhere, why can't I worship at home? Most man-made religions are all about advertising and guilt and money and corruption. Follow your heart, your beliefs and what you think is right. Before you label yourself agnostic, or atheist or Christian, or Buddhist, take a look at all the religions and beliefs out there...more than likely you'll find a path that suits you.

I can understand not wanting to follow any certain religion, I do not either. But I have a deep faith in God. And I believe that the Bible is true. I also believe a lot of man made religions are false and run by self serving egotistical greedy people, that infuriate me. But I think that ignoring the bus because the taxi drivers tick you off, could mean for a long walk home. Ignoring God because some religious people are idiots, could mean a real long walk. Your choice.

I'm agnostic - As a child I was raised Catholic so have as much a dislike of Bible Bashing as you seem to! No religion has got it a hundred per cent right yet - though for me, Paganism has got the closest...

Why anyone would need to look for something outside this world, when there are so may things within it to marvel at is beyond me. I prefer to believe in the things I can see! The other day I was on the train as the sun was on it's way to bed - the sky was clear blue and the sun got to that perfect point where she made everything she touched golden. Just seeing it brought the biggest smile to my face - sitting there on the train surrounded by everything wonderful! People, nature, beauty and life!

Who needs sacrafice and scripture to be saved, when you can find perfection on the Canterbury-Victoria?

Take care Lx

No one is born atheist or agnostic. They choose to not to believe or to not know. Ever wonder why? Because God's revelation is imprinted on us all. You cannot look around and not see the hand of a creator at work. You can complain about organized religion, all the bad religious people you have met, etc., but in the end none of us can claim we have an excuse for not believing that something exists beyond ourselves.

Give me some intelligent arguments why you reject God's existence.

There is no compulsion my dear friend whether to believe god or not...but the real thing is matter of belief and convenience. You may believe in yourself but some times if things go totally against your wish then u get frustrated. The convenience in believing god is that you can always rely upon or atleast hold on to the thought that the super power "God will save u from all troubles". Coming to second part of your question... i will ask u a question...How sincerely you have tried to God to reveal himself... its all belief my dear friend the level of belief u have with something. Try sincerely and then ask the same question whether God revaled himself to you or Not....

You don't have to believe in God and you don't have to follow anything but your heart. If your heart does not speak to you of a higher power and you are not drawn to a belief system, then that is as it should be (for now) and there is nothing wrong with that. Once you get knocked around enough on this physical plane of existence, you will begin to question why this continues to happen and tire of reincarnating back into this toilet bowl. Only then will you start searching for a higher purpose and only then will your heart speak to you. Sincere searching always yields truth. One day he *will* reveal himself to you in a way you least expect it.

You should be a good person and follow the Golden rule not fake any religion, this would be better than trying to be something you are not. God loves the dogs and cats and all the animals too and they won't be their either.
Maybe God will bring back dinosaurs and unicorns and dragons too

Your god is what you make it, you dont have to be religious to have a god. Thousands of years ago before jesus people used to believe in roman gods such as Mars the god of war. Some people believe the sun, moon, earth, water and wind are their gods. Its something you can connect with, billionairs probally think money is their gods.

Rastafians believe marijuana is their gods I belive from what I understand.

You must first kill about half your brain cells, then fill your mind with superstition, and fear of the natural world around you, then keep it in the darkest potholes of existence far from any attempts to educate it on how the world around you works, then aquire a burning passionate desire to exist forever, beyond this physical life as your body knows it, and somehow convinve your mind that that afterlife will be wonderful and better than this one....then and only then will GOD reveal himself to you. The more successful you are in this...the more intimate will be God's revealation of himself to you and you will become one of the lucky few, like pastors, faith healers, evangelicals, suicide bombers, fundamentalists, and born againers who can hear God's voice in their heads and who experience personal visions of his presence often. Good Luck. My only personal experience with the creator is when I feel my wife climaxing under me and hear "oh God, oh god" whispered softly in my ear. What a wonderful voice in my head !

Belief in God has nothing to do with any religion. You shouldn't follow anyone. You should lead. If you believe, you do. If not, so what, it's your decision. I believe, and I hate organized religion. To each their own. Good luck.
