You can read historical accounts of the events surrounding the life and death of Jesus. For example Flavius Josephus left an account of the events and he was not a follower.

The followers of Jesus had a front row seat to the events. They claimed that Jesus rose and appeared to them. Each of the apostles were martyred for this claim and some even lost thier families. John was exiled to an island. If it was all a lie then why didn't they admit it rather than die horrible deaths?

It defies human logic that these men were willing to lay down their lives for a lie.

and a stay forever or God will give them another chance . Jesus says forgive 7 times 70 . We have a mercy and grace to all. So, is God going to give chances to those in Hell. Jesus went there and brought some out of Hell and in to heaven or paradise.

to the congegation at mass earlier that same day? I have M.S., and doing both a morning mass and an afternoon trip to the diocese (1.5 hrs) would endanger my ability to walk for @ 2 days after because it would be such a long day for me. I generally attend Saturday eve mass because I don't feel well AM's. Is it possible to attend ONLY the "Rite of Election" on that Sunday? Otherwise it would be too long a day for my health to take. It would seem a shame to have come all this way in RCIA and not be accepted because it's hard for people to understand that this is a health problem. What is the rule?

If there is a God, which I don't believe there is, but who knows, would he punish people because they didn't believe in him? I saw this in another question of this sort.

Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Yet I have also seen this.

In the Bible, Jesus says."If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my Father..."

Now I haven't read the bible, so I don't know where that second quote came from, but I'm just curious.

theists are constantly trying to make it look like we can't PROVE that there's no god and that therefore we have no argument. they try to give the impression that it's "50/50" (when in reality the odds are slighlty more on our side), and so that there's really no need to discuss anything. of course,,, if you ask them if there's any chance that there's NO god, they'll say "well,, no, THAT'S not possible". -- right,, so much for 50/50.

here's the thing though. while i could never say something like "there are no unicorns" with certainty, i CAN say that an all-loving, all-powerful god is not possible in a world where bad things happen and some souls even supposedly go to hell. if there is ANYTHING that is impossible, then it's THIS. the ONLY way that this sort of god could exist is if we're wrong about even the most fundamental of what what know (i.e. that a thing is what it is and is not what it is not, and that contradictions can't be true).

I was searching for "Worthy" by Judy Jacobs on Itunes in the Gospel/Christian category and could not find it. It turns out, her music is listed in the R & B/Soul Category. Anyone know why? Did she previously produce music in that genre, or is it possible she was just miscategorized? Just curious. Thanks.

Ever since Ive joined R & S Ive seen nothing but the following in Christian belief system:

1. Trinity is essential
2. Jesus died for your sins
3. If you dont think he did youre doomed for hell.

Is this all these is to Christianity? I rather think its insulting to Jesus if thats all there is.

With all my respect to Jesus , I do beleive in him as a Great Prophet , a great men same as other Prophet Moses and Mohamed . But he is not the son of God . He may only pray to God as other creatures Do. He didn`t ever claim in the bible that he is " God " or "son of God" God is only one and has no parteners

Who believes that backmasking doesn't exsist/ can't be produced? Or.. if it did/could, it couldn't effect or subconscience?

If it does, do you think people use it for evil (or satanic) purposes?

when you ask a question and try to get a unique and individual response from a person, a religious bot usually answers with "because bible said so" but often don't realize it advocates crimes against humanity and touts people of that time as 'made righteous' but today would be on death row, even commanding 'god's' armies to kill the unborn...abortion

In the OT Dinah, daughter of Jacob, had sex before marriage with a well to do young man.

Some translations/ interpretations call it rape, others call it an elopement. Since the daughters opinion was not recorded in the Bible, we can only infer whether she was willing or not.

The man agreed to pay a bride price (sex before marriage penalty combined with a dowry). When his previous bride price was refused, he agreed raise it. He even agreed to convert to Jacob’s religion and get his family to do it as well. To top it all off he and the rest of the men in his immediate family agreed to undergo circumcision as adults (ouch!).

From Jacob’s side: the man was not of Jacob's religion and Jacob’s family did not approve of his desire to marry her. The man admitted to having sex with Dinah without parental consent and possibly without hers. At the very least, it was insult strong enough to justify murdering the man and his family while they were weak and then taking their valuables.

I mean didn't he just take the weekend off?

He died on Friday and then rose from the dead Sunday... so he really didn't die, which means he didn't die for anyone's sins.

There you got it now? No one died for your sins. Even if Jesus did how does that work exactly? Umm... I got the answer - it doesn't. So go play somewhere else. Kthanks.

If religious people believe that their god sent Jesus or Mohammed, why did that god only send one? And why in the Middle East? How come many Jesuses were not born in different parts of the world?
