If it is a Science, why would anyone post the Science of Evolution in the R&S category?

Secondly, Yahoo Q&A does not recognize it as a category. (It is not listed in either category in Social Science or Science and Mathematics.)

So what is the category of Evolution if it is not recognized as a Science?

(Either way I lose on this, no matter how sincere I write it. It and I are bound to being “blasted” with unimaginable amounts of Logic and Intelligence beyond all imagination.)

I have been seeing a few things lately that has really got me thinking.
Here in lovely St. Petersburg Florida there is a homeless problem, I guess they call it a problem because no one has come up with an answer, otherwise it would be the homeless solution.

Recently, a local mission allowed the homeless to put up tents on their property. The geography puts the poorest part of St. Pete near downtown, so humans complained. The city responded with an ulitimatum for them to not be homeless in 3 days. On the third day they were ordered (just doing their jobs) to destroy, dismantle and confiscate the tents. The solution they presented was sleep in doorways and such. There is plenty of video out there showing it.

So today I hear in FL again there is a church or chapel, anyway some flavor of religion, is allowing the homeless to sleep on their property and the city is giving them an ultimatum of a $2,000 a day fine.

Goodyear = God-year

On the wings of Goodyear, kind of like on the wings of angels

Firestone = Fire and Brimstone.

Reading through all the stuff on Young Earth Creationism ("YEC") I am struck by finding that most of the scientific arguments are AGAINST evolution.

Establishing the truth of YEC by refuting evolution fails unless you also show that YEC and Evolution are not just alternatives but the only available alternatives. Without that if you refute evolution you just show evolution to be false and do not show any particular other theory to be true, it could be ID that's true, a modified version of evolution or some new theory nobody has yet come up with.
If you disprove ALL the (currently) available you leave the field open for YEC, but you don't get YEC ON the field.

Arguments FOR YEC I have seen have been readings from the Bible. This would mean that YEC is a purely religious theory.

Are there any scientific arguments positively in favour of YEC and not just anti-evolution?

we must assume 'god' created something from nothing due the teachings god always existed

but we do not know this, and proof cannot come from a bible that has been shown to be man written and from simple minds that contradict modern science, like a moon gives light or shines (it reflects)

but I can take something, and scatter it to nothing, or take a bunch of nothing and make it to something, chaos to order, order to chaos

isn't this the natural cycle of things already?

One argument if favour of Intelligent Design I often read is that certain features, such as the eye, are too complex to have arisen by natural means.

But such complex features are arising all the time - every new baby of a species that has eyes - by entirely natural means. If the ID argument is sound should we not posit that every new baby is intelligently designed? In which case would this refute current biological theories about eggs, DNA, gestation etc etc the "theory of reproduction"?

It seems to me either that:
1. Yes, you have to reject the "theory of reproduction" or
2.. Intelligent Design is compatible with the "theory of reproduction"

If "2" then you have to ask yourself what ID is actually saying and have to work pretty hard to get it to exclude evolution. Evolution may be wrong but it would not be ID that showed it to be so and another naturalist explanation of the changes in life forms would be immune to criticism by ID.

So IDers - which is it 1 or 2?

A McDonald's in Chicago is having a gospel music choir sing on Sundays.

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week1023/feature.html

What do y'all think? I think it's sort of inflicting one's faith onto customers, but then again, all kinds of people disagree with all kinds of background music and entertainment at restaurants, and it's not like another McDonald's is hard to find.

Back-masking is the reverse sound waves that produce subliminal messages through music.

Examples: Jay-Z, a song played backwards says "Six Six Six, Murder Jesus"

Queen, "Another One Bites the Dust", backwards: "It's fun to smoke marijuana"

Led Zeppelin, "Stairway to Heaven": (this one is REALLY elaborate): "Oh here's to my sweet Satan. The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Satan. He'll give those with him 666, there was a little toolshed where he made us suffer. Sad Satan"

The Pokémon Rap: "I love Satan, I love Satan, I love Satan, I love Satan"

The Doors, "Break on Through": "I am Satan"

This stuff is scary.

Look on youtube for "The truth behind hip-hop Jay-Z" too.

If God says not to hurt another man, does this mean that if I or my family are thretened, I can't defend myself ? I mean God gave you a gift - life and not defending your life is not taking care of what God gave you !

I hear you pray 5 times a day.

Do you choose which 5 times of the day you pray, or does your book tell you what time of the day you have to pray.

Also, how many minutes does your praying last

and do you make up the prayer as you go along, or does your book give you the exact words to pray

Thanks - just was wondering, since I know nothing about your customs.
