It's easier than taking responsibility for their own actions.

Christians will never shoulder the blame. Remember, they are above the law. Satan is good for Christianity because he will take the blame for all their short comings. God could not exist in their minds without Satan. So maybe they should offer him some sort of compensation package? Say, invite him for an all expense paid weekend in Vegas. You know, where two faced Christians go to sin and have fun, then run home to church and seek forgiveness from the man in the sky.

I don't believe Christians scapegoat satan for everything. It is true that he is the "father of lies". Christians have free will to choose which path they will follow: satan's (deceit & sin) or God's (righteousness). Christians can be tempted or tested by satan, but the ultimate decision with regard to behavior is made by the Christian.

you know it's kind of funny since in the old testament which is the jewish scriptures lucifer aka satan was mentioned only once and is considered as an accomplice to god's plan but the new testament shows lucifer aka satan as an adversary aka an enemy of god and he's viewed as this powerful being which in terms it's like they have made lucifer aka satan a god and they don't even realize it anyway some people just find it easier to pass the blame on others rather then accept responsibility for their own actions

Satan is not a scapegoat. He is the adversary. Whenever something takes you away from the Lord our God you can bet it is the adversay.

He is called the adversary because he is adverse to God's will.

Yep. With Christan's it is either a blessing from god or the curse of Satan. The pattern will get boring after awhile. For example my brother just accident cut self while cutting some potatoes and now he is cursing the Devil and saying to stay out of hi life. (It's quite funny really)

It is not scapegoating, the Christians are merely identifying the correct source of all the sickness and trouble in this world. When it's all said and done, Satan is going to hell in a hand-basket and he would like nothing better than to drag us all along with him.

I think it was Thomas Paine who said that christians invented satan, then destroyed him, then brought him back whenever they decided they needed him again to blame something on. So they're dependent on him like they are on god.
