If there is a God, which I don't believe there is, but who knows, would he punish people because they didn't believe in him? I saw this in another question of this sort.
Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Yet I have also seen this.
In the Bible, Jesus says."If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my Father..."
Now I haven't read the bible, so I don't know where that second quote came from, but I'm just curious.

Dear Reddas,
Just because we scream his name doesn't mean he exists. We sometimes say "For Pete's sake!" Who is Pete? We may not know a Pete but we say his name.
We yell for god when in pain and such because we believe he is almighty and can stop it. When the situation is out of our control, we ask him to do what we want for us. That is when we tend to yell for him and ask him for stuff. I speak from experience because I have caught myself doing it.

Damnit people! Stop questioning my unbelieving. I don't believe no matter what. I haven't believed in over a year. I am only trying to understand religions because they make no sense to me.

No,
He won't force you to believe or force you to worship him.
But, he is the Judge and he will judge your works, sins and secret thoughts, whether it be good or evil.
IF you believe Jesus your sins are covered.
IF not, its as guilty as blood!
All have sinned. So if we don't have Jesus we all will die.
Yet Jesus will save those that are his, and won't deny them to God. But the others, he will declare. "I have not known you".

Let me ask you a question: Do you honestly believe that all those tyrants who killed millions will never be held responsible for their crimes? Do you honestly believe that child abusers and drug dealers and those who oppress the poor, and all the others who bring misery and death to our world, will never be held responsible for their crimes? I hope not.
And would it shock you to discover that no one in the Bible spoke more about judgment and Hell than Jesus? I suspect it would—and yet it's true. He warned that someday God will say to all those who have ignored His laws, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41). God is holy and just, and someday all the evils and injustices of this world will be judged.
But this isn't the whole story! God also is kind and merciful and loving (as you say), and He yearns for us to know Him and be with Him in heaven forever. That is why He sent His only Son into the world. Jesus Christ came for one reason: to save us from our sins. He did this by taking upon Himself the judgment and punishment we deserve.
The Bible says, "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Don't turn your back on Christ, but by faith open your heart to Him and trust Him alone for your salvation.

Good you don't "believe". This could be the beginning of your quest. You can know "truth" but you must question. The bible is not history it contains some truth of your self in myth form. So does The Wizard Of Oz. Dorthy is everyman, everywoman. She wants to go home. {find what has been lost} so she ends up on the "yellow brick road" {golden path}. There is much to the storeys if a person questions. And this is Q & A. Look for answers that "point" to the truth of yourself. Thanks for your question.

It is said that we are judged by what we know meaning those who have never been told about God are judged by that standard so yes, it's a choice.
God has placed in each man a desire to know Him and an innate knowledge of Him. Primitive societies worship wooden idols and so-called sophisticated societies worship the gods of money, success and material possessions.

The bible is false. Historically it is fairly correct, however the general idea of sinning and going to hell is a pile of whooie. God does not punish people. The Gods are not even interfering, that is why so many terrible things happen here. It is us who decide our own fate. Our soul chooses why we are here and what we want to learn. There is no hell and burning fire when we die, we just move on to the next phaze.
