You can read historical accounts of the events surrounding the life and death of Jesus. For example Flavius Josephus left an account of the events and he was not a follower.
The followers of Jesus had a front row seat to the events. They claimed that Jesus rose and appeared to them. Each of the apostles were martyred for this claim and some even lost thier families. John was exiled to an island. If it was all a lie then why didn't they admit it rather than die horrible deaths?
It defies human logic that these men were willing to lay down their lives for a lie.

Even the enemies of Jesus who had crucified Him had no doubt that He was dead, and the Roman governor put armed guards on His tomb to ensure no one could steal His body.
Throughout the centuries, however, people who deny that Jesus rose from the dead have come up with all kinds of theories to "explain" His resurrection. They know that if He did rise from the dead (as the Bible says), then Jesus was indeed who He said He was: the divine Son of God, sent from heaven to save us from our sins. They also know that if Jesus rose from the dead, then His words are true: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).
But because they refuse to believe in Jesus or submit their lives to His authority, they try to explain away His resurrection—in spite of the evidence. Don't be misled by their inventions! The Bible is clear: Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried and on the third day rose from the dead. Hundreds saw Him after the resurrection—and their lives were changed as a result.
Why is Jesus' resurrection so important? For one thing, it confirms that Jesus was the Son of God, our Savior. More than that, by His resurrection Jesus conquered death, and this gives us hope for life beyond the grave. Is your hope in Him?

The Josephus writings about Jesus are actually debated among historians -- in other words, they might not be legitimate. There's a lot of interesting articles about this.

So I suppose, by that logic, the 9/11 hijackers prove the "Truth" of radical Islam. Why would men die for a lie?
The passage in Jospehus that refers to Jesus is a notorious forgery. No responsible scholar accepts the traditional attribution of the gospel accounts to the apostles whose names they bear. The four gospels in the canon were chosen from dozens of accounts with a more or less equally weak claim to "historical accuracy," and even those four contradict each other on scores of important points. And there is practically no historical record of Jesus ever having existed outside of these various gospel accounts, whose discrepancies and obvious composite, partisan character cancel them out as "history" - to say nothing of their miraculous elements, which, in the absence of positive proof, are repugnant to common sense.

a part of the bible says jesus appeared first to Mary, another part says he appeared first to the 12 apostles. I think the resurrection is just a fairy tale for kids!

Jesus is the Son of God that was crucified to pay the penalty of death for all who accept this atonement. The true God of Abraham is a righteous God and we are not righteous. God gave man the law not because God thought man could live up to it but to show man his need for God. God knew we wold fall and a righteous God dos not call holy that which is not holy. God could not say sin was not sin because he is righteous and could not lie or bejoined to sin. The fact is our righteous God had a plan of salvtion ofr us before the creation of the world and that plan was Jesus Christ. If anyone would seek the truth in the true word of God they would find this plan of Salvation fromt eh very first scripture God gave to Moses. Many think that Chrisitans made up this story but the story is from the very first man through now and if one seeks the truth they will find it in the true word of God. The complete plan of God to restore his creation through atonement can be foundin the first book of Moses We call Genesis...God said let Us created man in our Image the he formed man from the dirt and he breathed into man a spirit and these two became a living soul.this is tha mage of God who is Fther Son and Holy Spirit When Adam was place int he Garden we learn their are two trees in the Garden one is the tree of knowledge of good and evil (which represents the law) God told them they must not eat of it because in the day they do they shall surely die. and the tree of life (which represents God's mercy and Salvation through Jesus Christ our lord) The Garden had a serpen which represents the devil Satan and he tricks them to eat of the tree which God frobid them to eat of which represents mans fall and that day death and sin enetered the world.this story was given to Moses 1500 Yewars befoe Jesus and Chrisitans and represents every belief a Chrisitan has that the wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life throughJesus Christ our lord. So how did Chrisitnas make up a story that was 1500 years before Christ and Christians? all of the Bible tells this same story of salvation Isiah tells of a Messiah that would be born of a virgin who's anem would mean God with us and hewould atone for sin. 800 years before Jesus not to mention Abrahams prophesy where he was to sacrifice Issac and Isac carried the wood...and asked his Father were is the lamb for sacrifice and Abraham toldhis son that Godwould provide himself a lamb. Later God does exactly that eh provides himself a lamb to die in issacs place Thsi place where Issac was to be sacrificed Abrham named Jehova Jirah which means the lord will provided because Abraham said this is where the lord would provide himself a lamb. all of the prophesies that were made of a Messiah thousands of years before Christ and all of these prophesies showing God's plan of salvation for his creation and still they say that Chrisitans have corrupted God's word...The Muslims believe that God decieved his people and made them believe in the crucifiction ..the reason they can believe that Allah deceives is because Allah is not the God of Abraham but the great deceiver who has decived God's people from the Garden of Eden to now. His first lie was that you will not surely die and it is the same lie found in the Qu'ran...The truth is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is the atonement he provided through his son Jesus Christ our lord.
