In the OT Dinah, daughter of Jacob, had sex before marriage with a well to do young man.

Some translations/ interpretations call it rape, others call it an elopement. Since the daughters opinion was not recorded in the Bible, we can only infer whether she was willing or not.

The man agreed to pay a bride price (sex before marriage penalty combined with a dowry). When his previous bride price was refused, he agreed raise it. He even agreed to convert to Jacob’s religion and get his family to do it as well. To top it all off he and the rest of the men in his immediate family agreed to undergo circumcision as adults (ouch!).

From Jacob’s side: the man was not of Jacob's religion and Jacob’s family did not approve of his desire to marry her. The man admitted to having sex with Dinah without parental consent and possibly without hers. At the very least, it was insult strong enough to justify murdering the man and his family while they were weak and then taking their valuables.

That's a good question! Perhaps Dinah had 'feelings' for this man, and wanted to become intimate with him, but her beliefs trumped her feelings, and the man got caught up in the heat of the moment... which may have resulted in any rape. Or Dinah was willing, and they later regretted their actions. Or it could've been a straight up 'forbidden' relationship. Where in the OT is Dinah's situation listed?

Either:
* Dinah saw an opporunity to contribute to her father's (and eventually her nation's) expansion and thus got that fellow into her legs knowing that such frolicking would lead him into trouble..
OR
* They eloped and were never forgiven for religous and ethnic reasons
OR
* She was raped (which I doubt).
Whatever, this is an instance of intolerance based on ethnicity and religion, which are inextricably linked in Bible times and some cultures of today.

definite, you're able to definatly tell your older brother. it is fairly severe, and not telling all people is barely making it worse. you relatively shouldn't worry approximately being separated using fact, as your brother is seventeen, you would be waiting to stay with him in a 365 days, while he's eighteen, in case you needed. do not positioned this off. keeping it to your self of course isn't working. i'm very sorry for what you have been by way of! stay solid and stable success! :)

I think she was willing it says he was sweet with her and talked nicely to her she agreed to marry him but her brothers took it as an insult that the young prince had slept with her before marraige. it may not even be thay had sex before as we know muslim women can be stoned for being alone with a man even with out sexual intent.

I think it was a mutual consent to pre-marital sex, but anything for "honor".
