Theists, instead of directing your replies as to what would happen if no god exists, use the example of another god, the Hindu Gods, The Islamic God, etc.

It is generally agreed that the Bible describes an immovable earth. At the 1984 National Bible-Science Conference in Cleveland, geocentrist James N. Hanson said there are hundreds of scriptures that suggest the earth is immovable. I suspect some must be a bit vague, but here are a few obvious texts:

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”

Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”

Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”

Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”

Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”

If the bible is god's word, and god's word is truth, why is our planet moving in orbit at 18.5 miles/sec, instead of standing still like the bible says?

This is for the believers in a pre-birth existence in heaven. I have hear of some people that can clearly remember being in heaven before being born. My younger cousin who is 5 says she remembers our entire family being in heaven a long time ago and I believe her.

If everything that came into existence was because of you, and (for some reason) you didn't like what you created, would you be angry at your creation or at yourself?

Would you judge your creation or yourself?

And to make it more interesting, you are all knowing, so you knew what you were going to create before you even started the designing process.

If your belief is the "right" one, and your God is the Truth... then read on...

I have seen some people in here stating that God has set everyone's lives up for them, He knows when they die, what happens between that and being born, etc etc... so did He also choose who would believe and who would not? Did He know that people would start believing in other God's? Why would he do that?

Or that the entire universe is just a series of thoughts god is dreaming up and that God is experiencing these 'dreams' through' us, it's creation?

Where does this belief come from any info?

Years back I was driving to SC for a vacation. It was Labor Day weekend so the traffic was heavy and we were travelling at around 70 mph. Anyway I went to light my cigarette and my lighter was gone(it was on the passenger seat about a half hour earlier) So I was trying to find it on the floor and couldn't so got off the next exit, went the wrong way off the exit, turned around, found a store and bought a new lighter. I got back in my car and my yellow lighter was sitting on the passenger seat. I was confused and kinda pissed off. Anyway I went to get back on the highway and the whole highway was completely backed up and not moving. As we started to move I saw the accident. The red car that had been travelling in front of me for at least 30 miles was crashed on the right side of the road and the white car that had been behind me was all the way on the other side of the highway and was seriously smashed up. Do you think an angel saved me or what??

As an agnostic/atheist, should I support the Fundamentalist conquistadors fighting for the right of forcing their prayers across my children's home room speaker in order to help reduce Christian extremism in this nation?

Given that the separation of Church and State has actually helped to PROMOTE religious faith in this nation, why are so many of the ultra-right so eager to violate that separation?

Suppose a Christian baseball player completely missed second base and only realized it after sliding safely into third. He is the only person who knows that he missed it and the other team shows no sign of making an appeal at second for the out.

As a Christian is he under any obligation to run back to second base or should he just stay at third?

It seems the religion and spirituality section of Yahoo! answers is just a battle ground, everyone trying to prove each other wrong. All us Christians are attacking athiests and trying to make them look stupid, and all the athiests are trying to make Christians look stupid. Can't anybody realize that this isn't what Christianity is about? It's about a God who loves you. Christians aren't perfect or better people, they are just forgiven. So why do Christians online here try to make themselves look better than athiests?
