Educate the parents on the common diseases in the countries. Create a sense of awareness......for example in S'pore the government bodies are doing a lot of publicity to remind parents to have their kids immuned against the PNEUMOCOCCAL virus....and it's really working cos pratically everyone I know are bringing their kids to the peadiatrics for the jab. Teach parents around the world basic FIRST AID as the role of the first aider is to preserve life....so while perhaps the neighbours call for help from medical professional, something can be done to prolong the child's chance of living. Do a lot of those missionary trips especially to places that are more prone to child fatality. Do more charities and publicities to collect more fund for these kids and help them with their medical needs.

Keep them in an approved child safety seat and make sure you know how to install it correctly.

Keep dangerous items out of their reach (chemicals, sharp objects, small items they can choke on etc).

Keep a vigilant eye on them at all times. In a split second, a child can fall into a swimming pool or even a toilet bowl, be unable to get out, and drown.

Protect them from abuse - physical and emotional. Get them out of these situations right away.

Teach them about not going with any person unless they can say a code word (that was taught by the parent to the child). Teach them what to do when someone approaches them and tries to take them.

Teach them that it is okay to say "no" and to define their boundaries about what is acceptable touch and what is not.

Thank you for the question!

Breastfeeding your child for a minimum of the first year is a great start in this endeavor. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding for two years! The American Pediatric Association also strongly encourages breastfeeding for at least the first year of life.

Another big step would be to increase straight-talking sex education, not ineffectual abstinence-based programs. If we encourage young women to be aware of their actions and possible consequences as well as their ability to act in an educated manner regarding their sexuality, we are likely to decrease the number of children who face abuse and even death.

Ensure you support childrens charities such as:

Childrens Hospitals: your donations may help fund research into childhood diseases

Give your time to a charity that funds breakfast programs

Supports programs that will aid children around the world.

Challenge governments and lawmakers to strengthen laws that protect children from predators and violence

Go after deadbeat parents who abandon their children

Ensure that as parents, you do everything in your power to love, teach, feed and nuture your children.

Lucy Liu or troll: doesn't matter. Its a good question.

I know that there are lots of organizations. But, I find them awfully impersonal. for example: all correspondence is filtered through the orgs and you can only send money. Spend time, get to a child or two. Find out what they need most and give of your heart, not just your money. Yes, it takes more time adn energy, but its effects last longer.

Giving to charity like Feed the Children and/or adoptions, which ever you can swing. Remember, some of the problems of this world only exist cause we simply let them.

Ask God. no person else is familiar with of how he makes the universe and you. How does God %. and want to create you who finally ends up in basic terms criticizing him for a manner issues are? The impulse to do this is basically with the aid of our no longer information the secret of suffering in existence. Jesus suffered greater beneficial than they to teach God can deliver an more desirable good out of something no rely how evil that is.

You give. Give food so a child can eat. Give clothing so a child can be dressed. Give money so a child can be privileged. Give medical supplies so a child can be healthy. Give education so a child can learn. Give hope so a child can succeed. If you give all of yourself, you can save a child's life.
