Horus was around in Ancient Egypt before Moses was born.

It was the popular thing back then. Today's new religions center around aliens from outer space and cyborgs. If you want the big bucks and the hots chicks you have to be popular. A recent failed attempt had a 600 foot tall Jesus walking all over Tokoyo. It was believable up to the point where they had him shooting death rays from his decoder ring and slam dunking poor mothra.

the reason is becase most deities were female, in order to change them over to male. the religious authorities had to come up with a clever way of changing them to men. If a virgin has a child them they are still pure and a miracle has occured
