Ok, I'll make it short.

1. We were created free from death. We chose sin, and it's consequences, pain and death.
2. God gives us all many, many chances. He even died so that we may have eternal life. Throughout history, people have used him, and rebelled against him, and he has still shown such mercy.
3. Throughout the Old Testament there are accounts of God ordering the deaths of many, many people. It is also made clear that these people were very wicked, and were full of selfishness and debauchery. He did not want his people to be corrupted by the former inhabitants of the land of Canaan, (which they were, because they did not listen to God and kill all the people there,) and we do not know exactly how long or how much these people had rebelled against God before he gave them what we all deserve.
4. You can't hold God responsible for the acts of every religious nut quoting the Bible, just like you can't hold Canada responsible for people like Bryan Adams and Shania Twain. ;-)
5. Physical death is not the end.

Did you mean Sodom and Gomorrah and all those wicked nations?

Well, those people were becoming a threat to the righteous ones...but notice that before God executes his judgement, he sends a warning first..the prophets. In Sodom, Abraham begged that if there would be about 10 righteous people that the city be not destroyed, unfortunately there were no 10 righteous people.

Remember the city of Nineveh, the people turned back from their wickedness after Jonah pronounced God's judgment and the city was spared.

If you refer to the World wars and other wars, God did not cause it. Who did? We find the answer in Revelation 12:

7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him....12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

Satan coming down to earth does not only mean he is behind the wars(as well as famine, pestilence, illnesses which human government cannot solve) but he is also influencing the "spirit" of the world...that is the moral state that we have now....Why does Satan kill? Because he does not want the people to know about God and he wants them to think that God himself caused all the sufferings...as Satan is the Father of the lie...he has been lying about the True God's identity allthroughout his rebellion.

Acturally, He's caused more life than anyone else in human history. Yes, He's a loving God.

God is the one who created us, so he loves us, he killed the bad people only, because they were unfaithful, and denied him, we need to respect what he has done for us, and be faithful.
Would you rebel against your own loving mother or father, who loved you, and took care of you, how do you think that they will react? they wouldn;t be happy, so is god, and he is the one who decides, the thing that we can do is help others to be faithful and live a good life
