1 Kings 15:1-2
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah. Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

2 Chronicles 13:1-2
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah. Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel.

I think that is a contradiction.

i am trying to put together a youth discussion on fighting. A few in my group have a problem with fighting at school, but i want to gear it towards everyone. So i want to do like, Shining brightly for Christ, and for us to live how he intends for us to and what not. Any pointers? Any advice? Anything? Games? whatever anyone can help me with would be awesome. God Bless!

I suppose this is more of a survey than an actual question...there are two parts to it.
1) Please list why you personally believe in God.
2) Please list the reasons you think other people have for believing in God.
Thank you for your input? :)

I am serious. This is what happened over the summer and it bothers me a lot. We went on vacation, me, my brother, my mom and my grandmother. I had just had a fight with my mom because she wanted to go to the beach all day every day but I hate sitting on the beach. Its so hot. I wanted to stay in the campground. I was sunburned and the sunscreen makes my skin burn worse, and there isn't much room under the umbrella for me cause my mom and grandmother are under it. We were staying there for a month so its not like I could just deal with it for a couple of days then go home.

My mom said I cant stay in the campground cause I'm too young (12). And my grandmother said im spoiled. So we had a fight and I said I want to shoot myself. Then the trailer started shaking and they said demons are coming up from the earth. Its all my fault. They started crying because they were worried about the demons getting my little brother.

Is this real? Did I really make demons come up?

Do christians make the best judges of people?

Just think about benchmarks two minutes.

Its a lot easier to live with christians than other people,
christians give most leeway and arent concerned about stupid more paganistic values like personality, intelligence, fashion sense, practical usefullness.

Also its not like the things christians scorn are hard to avoid, its easier to be right with a christian than it is to be wrong.

Dont agree?why?

I have seen many questions and discussions regarding swearing on the Holy Bible or Koran. Do you think it should be enough if we promised to tell the truth? Do you think that it makes our word more trust worthy if we swear on the Holy Book?

This question is inspired by the folloving verse from the Bible:

Matthew 5: 34-37:
I tell you, Do not swear at all:either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair black or white. Simply let be your "Yes" be "Yes" and your "No" be your "No"; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Tell me your thoughts.

Ok, so seriously where in the world do people get that Mormons believe in reincarnation? And that we just go off in the wild and marry many wives, and that the Book of Mormon was written by Joseph Smith?!! I just wish for once people would educate themselves before they start running their mouths about what they overheard or what someone told them. Lets start thinking for ourselves please.

They really want to join a club - but because they are Jewish the heads of the clubs wont let them join ...?

They say they can never become a member simply because they were born a jew - some of them say Jews can but will never be accepted as a true member or equal because they were born Jewish - however they always say how they are the best club better than anyone else but exclude Jews

Is this fair ?

Personally, I view humor as essential to spirituality because compared to the reality of the universe, we are pretty stupid (in other words, there is A LOT that we don't know) -- so why not laugh about it a little?

It's not "Christian" or "atheist." There are PLENTY of choices in between! I'm really tired of Christians assuming that I'm one of them because I say I believe in god, and atheists thinking I'm one of them because I reject the Bible. There's middle ground, people!

Since this country was founded by a set of rights, one is the freedom of religion. You have the right to believe what you want, if it’s god or something else. And the separation of church and state. The founding fathers knew that religion needed to stay out of politics.

Most people will judge you ONLY one what you believe, instead of what you stand for. How you act and are as a person. That seems to be missing from this country. If you are a good, honest, trustworthy, loving, caring and loyal person that is not enough. It only matters if you believe in god and that jesus is the son of god.

The message I received was about making time to strengthen your faith by reading the bible daily, and about knowing God's will for you.Very inspirational.

What more can I say when witnessing to people? They constantly ask me what proof do you have to prove God truly exists? And my answer will be "You need proof? It's called faith! And you need to find some. You're the one who gets to decide whether or not you go to heaven. I can only help you learn about God but it is you who decides to believe in Him or not." But the problem is I feel like I need more to say. And what else can I say when they ask, "What makes you think you're right and I am wrong?" I am young and pretty new at this so I could use any help at all. Thanks so much. God Bless you.
