I suppose this is more of a survey than an actual question...there are two parts to it.
1) Please list why you personally believe in God.
2) Please list the reasons you think other people have for believing in God.
Thank you for your input? :)

The impossible mathematical odds for naturalism by time chance and natural selection to be true.
The total lack of supporting evidence such as a transpecies example in the fossil record and the continued existence of monkeys.
The Big Bang Theory which proved a beginning of the universe.
Irreducible complexities in microbiology which Darwin said could be used to discount his theory if it was every discovered.

More than anything else it was the change in my own heart.
I would rather not relate to you what a dispicable person I was before I aquired a saving faith in Christ. How do you communicate the subjective reality of the prescence of the Holy Spirit inside of you?
There have been supernatural experiences that I believe could only have come about if there was a God who loved and cared about me. Several close calls with death and specific answers to prayer.

As far as why other people believe, I don't think that would be for me to say. I suppose for the same reasons and many more as I would but I also think many believe because of tradition.

Bottom line is I don't think anyone really believes had it not been for God's act of first calling out to us and the deep longings in the human soul and spirit.

1) I have nothing else to believe in. How am I supposed to put my faith in a creation without knowing the Creator? God has proven His existence to me and he continues to do so.

2) I can't tell you what to believe. The only reason you or anyone else will believe is because God has opened your eyes to see the awesomeness that He is. It would be impossible for me to tell you why you should believe in God because He has touched my life in a way that is impossible to just tell. Words can't describe it. So, why should other people believe in God? Why shouldn't they? He proves himself everyday, just by brining the sun out. I don't know about you, but I sure couldn't control a whole universe.

I believe in God because of the teleological and cosmological argumentations that clearly evince the existence of a God. I realize that existence could have been simply bacteria living, or just the animals in the world. But the fact of the matter is that everything evolved into rational human beings. Sounds too big a coincidence. Also, God gave the Jewish people the bible.

Dear Lecta,

I believe in God both in my head and in my heart. Just as Pilgrim stated I have stood in God's presence so I don't just believe, I know for a fact.

Let me describe an experience for you. When my daughter was a youngster she had 3 different times when one of her arms came out of the socket (she loved to swing on the stair railing to see how far she could jump off the stairs). Each time we had to take her to the ER to have her arm put back in place. The 3rd time it happened we waited in the waiting room for several hours. Our normally active daughter just sat quitely on our laps feeling very miserable. But suddenly she jumped up off my lap and went off to play with her older brother. Somehow her arm had gone back into place on its own.

My own Before God story closely resembles the experience with my daughter's arm. Before I accepted Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior, my life was completely out of joint. Once I accepted Him it was a night and day difference. I still had plenty of problems but Oh what a difference!

It was still several years before I started reading the Bible from cover-to-cover. Doing so when my life was falling apart at the seams was the Best Thing I've done in my life. Now I read it from cover-to-cover on a regular basis.

I can't NOT believe in the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe. Thank you for your question. I'd much rather let other people tell their own stories about why they believe.

I was not raised in church, my parents never talked about God or church. Before I ever entered a church and long before I became a Christian, a friend told me he didn't believe in God, it gave me a stomach ache and made me sad. The truth that there is a God is part of my very soul.

I cannot speak for others.

I personally believ in a God of my own understanding because otherwise I have live a pointless existance. I want to be here for a reason. Then I need to know my reasoning for being here. Its not to be cruel and useless. I need purpose. God gives me one. To help the other.

I con't speak for others. Let them tell you.

I "believe" in God because I know for an absolute fact that he exists... Faith without fact is fantacy.

I can only speak for myself... But I do know that ALL of those of The True Christian Faith know The Fact of God's existance. they would not be of The Faith if they did not... as to what else God has done for them to strengthen their faith...that is beween God and the individual... each receives what God has for them personaly

If you have questions about the basics of The True Christian Faith you may email me

I believe in God, because God is about Love, and when I got a saved and had my first "Born Again" experience, I knew and felt God's Love!!! Everyday!!! It was then that I knew HE was REAL, and when my prayers were getting answered, was the "Ultimate Experience!!" Plus, God's Love is Unconditional !!! Even Christian's make mistakes, but God would show me where I went wrong, and still love me, "Uncoditionally!!!" I wasn't Loved much as a child, and when I first had a "Born Again" experience I was basically at the bottom of a barrel, with LIFE!!! I had hit bottom, in every aspect of the word, and felt hopelesss, helpless, and like I was a "Failure" at everything in LIFE!!! So I moved in with an old friend who got tired of seeing me cry day after day, and drink my problems away!! And when he had , had it with me, and gave me an "Ultimatum" To either go to church with him, or move out, I went to church!!! And it wasn't easy either, because I had the worst "Hangover"!!! So, there I was with my hangover, sitting in church, and the sermon just so happened to be about "Stuffing our problems, instead of giving them to God" and the pastor gave an "Alter Call" for anyone who wanted to come up for prayer, and so I did.....And it was THEE Best Decision I've ever made in my entire life!!! Not only did they pray for me to quit drinking, and not have any cravings, or withdrawal, but they prayed for me to get on my feet, to find work, and for God to just lift me up in Spirit, body & soul !!! Well, your not going to believe this, but when I went to sit back down not only had my hangover disappeared, but I totally felt the "Holy Spirit!!!" And from that point on, I wanted more!!! I began to read His Word, the Bible.....And God began to Bless me, Abundantly!!! I got a realy good paying job, working for one of the busiest stores in town, and with good pay!!! I have no regrets for listening to my friend on that day, he was fed up, NOT ONE REGRET, for ever making the choice to go to church that morning with him!!! I think other people believe in God, because they also have had some sort of "BornAgain" Experience theirselves!!! Once you've felt the Holy Spirit, you will never be the same again!!! And no one on "Planet Earth" can tell you that God doesn't Exist !!! Because He very much so does too EXIST!!!!!!! And no one will ever regret going to church and getting saved, and babtised in the spirit, and in water!!! It will be a LIFE Changing experience, for sure!!!! May God Bless You for asking this question...... Smile!!!
