There will never be another mammoth worldwide war like that of WWII. The possession of nuclear bombs by major world powers will prevent that from happening. The outcome of any war between the US and China, England and Germany, or any other powers would have one ending. The war would perpetuate to a point where neither would give in because they had nuclear weapons at their disposal and could "win" if they used it. The globalization of industry also prevents a world war. The economic ties of all powerful nations are too strong to risk any severing of those ties.

Well, the Bible says that in the last days, "blessed are the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never gave suck" - that is, in the last days, it would be better for those who had never had children - then they will be spared seeing those children not grow up, or seeing them killed. The time of tribulation is going to be pretty bad.
