This is from an episode from the Voyager series, from an alien doctor and his views on science. Something to think about...

“Something so enormous as Science will not stop as something as small as man. It’s good to know how the world works. It is not possible to be a scientist unless you believe that all the knowledge of the universe and all the power that it bestows is of intrinsic value to everyone. We must share that knowledge.”

Seriously, some guy told me to believe, and when I asked him why all he said was b/c the bible said do.

No bible verses, no "Because god says for me to"... non of that, I want to know why, and how you could believe in such nonsense? WHY? Where is the proof of god?

Please do not say "You cannot disprove him, therefor he is real"...

B/c if I said "I believe in Leprechauns." You cannot prove that Leprechauns do not exist, therefore they exist.... right!? You actually have heard of Leprechauns. There are lots of books, movies and fairy tales dealing with Leprechauns. People talk about Leprechauns all the time. Leprechauns even have a popular brand of breakfast cereal. But that does not mean that Leprechauns exist. There is no physical evidence for the existence of Leprechauns. Not a single bit. Therefore, it is obvious to any normal person that Leprechauns are imaginary. There is no difference between "god" and Leprechauns.

So why should I believe in god? And why do you?

This is actually true, although it wasn't official and they later had to go get a certificate. The minister didn't show up and I was drafted.

the existence of god, fun? I love it. I can't think of a better way to spend eternity. Lets talk about it forever... But i only want to know one thing; "Is there any reason that life should be taken seriously?"

Ted Haggard the past president of The National Association of Evangelicals. He has since resigned as senior pastor of the New Life Church. Has been quoted many times in the media and in his sermons about the scourge and demise of Christianity due to homosexuality. Haggard has preached anti-abortion beliefs and the fact that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Haggard believes Creationism is the only fact and evolution is a complete falsehood.

How have Evangelicals accepted that their so-called deity has admitted he had received a massage from a Denver man who claimed the prominent pastor had paid him for sex over three years. Haggard also admitted he had bought methamphetamines. Haggard had acknowledged some, but not all, of the allegations (e.g., purchasing drugs), but he later added "sexual immorality" to his list of confessions.

I'm curious how the evangelical community has taken this shocking blow? Has it made you question you faith in Evangelicalism?

Are you supersitcious and an atheist? I don't mean supersticious about going to heaven or hell, I mean like good or bad luck, murphy's law (whatever can go wrong will), stuff like that? I am, just wanted to make sure I'm not alone.

I have to say that I was today. They just had a blessed peace about them, and it was nice. It certainly didn't seem to bother them that they were very sick and had to wait a long time before the Dr. saw them. They came in with a smile, and left that way.

Its very hard to pick!!

Or if you can't pick one, what would your "happy" place involve. What parts of nature.

Mine's beach at night time with the stars out, bonfire, grass swaying in the wind. :) lovely!

I saw a re-run for Tyra Bank's show when she gathered the most discriminated against groups which were blacks, latinos and muslims. When I heard the opinion of a black woman (if you saw that show you'll know that she looked like a gangster) said that a muslim woman in hijab mostly would be hiding a bomb underneath her clothes. Now any intelligent person would know that she answered that way just to feel like a member of the American society whose been discriminating against her and her families for years.
So, why do Americans hate Muslims that much and shouted HOORAY when Bush said it's Muslims who did 9/11? I guess you would've think twice if he said that a Hindu group for example did it, and you wouldnt've felt as excited as when you heard it is Muslims.
Is it a matter of Christians vs. Muslims thing?
Or is it really the media effect, which I'm having a difficult time to understand that people could be so blind.
(this is not a defense for Islam anyway)
