1. BECAUSE HE SAID SO. 2. IF YOU CAN GET IN TUNE WITH UNIVERSE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. YOGA, MEDITATION AND PRAYER WILL BRING YOU CLOSER TO THE CREATURE.
WHY DO YOU NEED PHYSICAL EVIDENCE? WHY DO YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN EVEN COMPREHEND A BEING THAT IS SO MUCH GREATER THAN YOU. YOU HAVE FREE WILL, AND YOU CAN CHOOSE AS YOU WANT, BUT FAITH AND THE CONNECTION THAT ONE GETS IS THE GREATEST REWARD OR FEELING ONE CAN HAVE.
THERE IS A SYSTEM AND IT IS FOOLISH TO THINKTHE SYSTEM JUST HAPPENED AS A MATTER OF CHANCE. THE PROBABILITY IS IMPOSSIBLE, SO THERE IS YOUR PHYSICAL PROOF

The best example of whether God exist is the Human Brain.
Studies, like that done by the University of Michigan, and features in the Discovery Channel program, The Amazing Life of the Human Brain, shows just how amazing the human brain is.
Every second while awake, we are absorbing 40MBs of data per second. That’s 144 gigabytes per hour and about 2 terabytes per day. That’s a lot of data even for the largest computer. When we sleep at night, and only at night or under nighttime conditions, all that data is sorted and stored through the creation of synaptic connectors and biochemical bounds. The brain has enough volume to allow for the creation of these storage connectors to last over 10,000 years.
Without the need of a creator, what evolutionary pressure could cause the need for this much volume that would take that long to fill? Clearly, man was either created by God to live that long, or if evolve, once lived that long, and has since de-evolved to what we are today. Which do you think it is?
Evolution does take place, in that animals have evolved and humans have de-evolved since the time of the creation. Many divergent species are related, such as the Meerkat/Hyena and the Lion/House cat. A house cat can breed with a lion, I wonder if the same is possible the Hyena and Meerkat?
This is why I believe in God. I use the brain he gave me, and designed for me, to determine something beyond imagining.

I can't tell you to believe in the Big G...just as I can't tell a friend not to be angry with the Big G.
Honestly, the belief part is subjective. Each person, in my opinion, percieves the Big G in their own way. Just as you percieve the Big G...as possibly non-existant.
Why do I believe? My perception of the Big G is 'life' in general. My view is that the air I breath, the reproduction of life and life as it happens (for both what is perceived to be good and bad), the growth of life, the stars and the universe that I see...in all it's scientific terminology that I both understand and don't, is in effect a great part of the Big G. Life is very powerful. Death is just a part of it. Oddly, I believe to 'feel' the Big G...just as energy in general...not a hand on a shoulder.
As for the idea of the Big G, in terms of an entity who 'answers prayer'...oddly enough, through subjective experiences of my own (I'm not refering to visions or hearing voices--thank you!), eperiences of circumstance, luck, fate...or however you might want to label, when I pray, I perceive the Big G to be the life force or 'spirit' within everything that surrounds me; the Big G is conceptual; the Big G is visible only in the things that the Big G exists in; the Big G is not a person, a specific gender, an animal, a place, and not a specific thing (although, sometimes the Big G works through various people, animals and things...to help me or to explain crap in general); to me the Big G pretty much exists in everything that emulates life (it doesnt have to be animant--this could be wind, the clouds dumping snow, lightening storms...the grass that grows...rocks in the ground--everything, for the most part, gives off at least a small bit of energy (electrical current)...not everything of course...we do. When I pray to the Big G, I don't pray to a rock or any other 'thing'...just to the Big G. The Big G seems to answer me sometimes (from my subjective experiences...in the way that circumstances seem to go at times), my answer is not always what I 'want' it to be or what I might think to be expected--sometimes it has been rather surprising and very unexpected. Call me a cracker jack whack...or what you will....but this is the best that I can explain about my belief in the Big G.

Peace!
I believe God exists because he revealed himself to humanity through his son Jesus Christ. I have not heard of any human being who:
1. Silenced a typhoon.
2. Walked on water.
3. Restored dead people back to life.
4. Feed 5,000 people by multiplying a few loaves of bread and fishes.
5.Turn water into wine.
6. Wither a fig tree simply by cursing it.
7. Rise from the dead.
All these miracles show that Jesus had the power over the forces of nature and life. If Jesus were a fake, a liar, impostor or a mere man or superman, God would have left him in the grave. His resurrection is the ultimate proof of Christ's divinity and God's existence. His resurrection story, if it were made up, would have died a long time ago. It could not be silenced because hundreds of people saw his glorified and resurrected body.
God bless

Let's say you think your friend took something of yours but your friend says no. You believe them even though there is no physical evidence.
By believing in God, you have a lot of faith. I have found that beliving in God was the best choice I ever made. He held me when I cried, when I was young and afraid of kidnappers, killer, etc, he told me not to worry because he is beyond them. His love will come first to anything. Either you believe him or not, he loves you. He's like a father. If you do drugs, your father is not proud, God may not be very happy with your descision but he will give you another chance.
There is a difference between God and Leperchauns. God looks at you every day. He knows one day a choice will have to be made. He hopes you choose the right one. And what's the point in NOT believing in God? What else is there to 100% believe?
Are you going to believe in leperchauns? That they love you to the most extreme? OF COURSE NOT! God is a choice. Sometimes people make the wrong choice. I just really hope YOU decide to make the right one.

I think backround has a tremendous impact on wheather someone believes in god. as a side note as well your comparison to leprechauns simply is slightl infantile. but on a more seriousl not if you have ever studied biology on a molecular level and see the levels upon levels of organization that exists seems to indicate a guiding presence. Look at all the conditions that needed to take place just for the simplest organisms to be created from the primordial ooze. Evolution is one of the main non-societal factors that I think causes me to believe in God. sure it could have happened randomly but it makes more sense being guided by something, otherwise entropy should rule as it does in most of the universe.

There are many reasons why I do believe in God.
1. I was born of premature birth. The doctors cut parts of my brain open to get oxygen flowing so I could breathe properly. They didn't think I was going to live past age six and I also had to stay in the hospital for 18 months before I was released. I am now almost 20 years old.
2. I was unable to walk and talk at the appropriate age so i had to learn sign language. A few months later I was singing. So you might be able to say that I sang a song before I was able to talk.
3. I was at a disadvantage when I started school, but I graduated top ten of my class with honors.
4. My mom just recently had surgery for two anerisms. One ruptured and the other one was about to rupture. Thank God she is alive.
I know it is hard for you to understand but miracles do happen. If the holy spirit was not there for my family, we would have never gotten as far as we are now. These are a few of my testimonies, but it doesn't end there to what God has brought me out of.
If there was no God I would NOT be alive today. He saved me from a deadly car accident, a unwanted pregnacy (because I decided to date guys who respected me), a weak-faith church, and a dead-end job.

Nobody can convince you to believe in God. I don't believe in any religion, but I believe in God...the creator. You may be comfortable in your being an atheist, but I just cannot agree with the the idea that something can exist by appearing out of nothing. I am even open to the idea that there may be more that one god....or supernatural power. You are entitled to your beliefs, but I prefer to be open-minded regarding this matter.

dear friend, I don't want to deny your question and never tend to quote any words from any holy book, but can you convince yourself where are you from and who has given the power of feeling and the great vision and so many other great gifts within yourself? I think you are educated enough to know nothing can be created out of nothing, so we should believe that there is a great power and not matter what you call that power.
for the existence of God no one can give you the Proof but yourself, think about it and you will get it and the last question why should we believe in God, you can ask yourself when you are in trouble, for example when you are fallen in a sea , who do you call when no one is around you?

A mind that is closed and prejudiced against an idea does not contemplate that idea in a manner that would lead to understanding.
Until you are willing to consider God with an open mind, you will continue to compare Him to Leprechauns.

well if there is no God then explain how you got here. i am a scientist and i believe in God. not because im afraid of going to hell, ok mabye a little. I believe because i cant figure out how you and i can exist without him. no scientist in the world could ever prove the nonexistence of God. but they did come up with these laws that are the very foundation of life. one of them states,
that matter may not be created nor destroyed.
think about that. if thats the case then how could anything have ever existed. i believe that God is infinatley more complicated than our imagination can handle at the time being, so its only natural to have some ******* who just want to stop trying to understand God and put everything as a big bang and thats it. dont ya think God made the big bang, dont ya think God made us evolve from monkeys if we did. dont ya think that if the bible dose infact contradict itself that mabye its because man wrote it. dont ya think that mabye Stephen Hawking would say God is a f@#cking Leprechaun if he was. oh by the way if your too uneducated to know who that is hes only the smartest man in the world. look him up and i promise you will be satisfied. his book is called A Brief History of Time. and also look up Dan Browns, Angels and Demons. and also Anne Rices Memnoch the Devil.
hope you get some good answers my brother. God Bless you and Good luck.
