Ted Haggard the past president of The National Association of Evangelicals. He has since resigned as senior pastor of the New Life Church. Has been quoted many times in the media and in his sermons about the scourge and demise of Christianity due to homosexuality. Haggard has preached anti-abortion beliefs and the fact that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Haggard believes Creationism is the only fact and evolution is a complete falsehood.

How have Evangelicals accepted that their so-called deity has admitted he had received a massage from a Denver man who claimed the prominent pastor had paid him for sex over three years. Haggard also admitted he had bought methamphetamines. Haggard had acknowledged some, but not all, of the allegations (e.g., purchasing drugs), but he later added "sexual immorality" to his list of confessions.

I'm curious how the evangelical community has taken this shocking blow? Has it made you question you faith in Evangelicalism?

I used to really think that God wouldn't tolerate people who were preaching the Bible and living against what they were saying, now I just think that it obviously it's no big deal. Not only him, look at some of the tv evangelists who are millionaires who are preaching and taking peoples money, they're just as bad. I think a lot of the big time preachers are really just actors and talented in speaking and performing.

I am very active in my church which is evangelical. I had never heard of Ted Haggard. I agree with my pastor that what he did was bad but I am not mad at him. If some evolutionist or athiest did the same thing would it discourage you, assuming thats what you are. Christianity is something that welcomes sinners to change them and provide eternal life with God. It doesn't mean Mr. Haggard won't be suffering some pretty bad consequences for the junk he got into. But if Evangelical faith has no room for him then it is not Bible based.

"lost the moral intense floor"? i do not imagine he ever had the moral intense floor to commence with. If he had, he would not were a pastor. we are speaking about a male prostitute right here, and there became more desirable to that relationship than agency. it isn't like the prostitute took some thing remote from him, and it isn't the prostitute who must be taking the blame. I rather doubt that this became the first time Ted Haggard were in touch with yet another guy. Ted Haggard preached adverse to homosexuality for years, understanding that he, himself, became a closet gay. The homosexuality wasn't the priority so a concepts as i became in touch - it became his hypocrisy and outright lies. when I stated Richard Dawkins' documentary about faith, and the interview with Ted Haggard, I knew that his mind wasn't functioning precise, and it looked as if it would me that both the guy became loopy or on drugs, or both. seems it became both.

Well here is one Evangelist who is deeply sadden that Dr. Haggard fell. I am sad that he, like the rest of us are only human and never exempt from the act to sin while on this earth. But the truth of his message is unwavering, and that is what we continue to support.

No, because all people sin. Just because one of his sins have become well-known, and talked about, has nothing to do with MY faith. I kno it goes on, and I sin as well, all it means for me, is further proof that the Bible is true...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. I don't ? my beliefs, because of one man's sin. I don't follow the man, I follow God, which lead me to the same beliefs.

None of the Evangelical Christians that I know feel anything about him. Most of them don't even know or care who he is.

I never heard his name until it showed up in the news. You have a mistaken notion that Christians worship men. I worship the one true God.

I saw the HBO doc called "Friends of God" and he was in that, right before he got busted for liking little boys.

All men sin. All women sin. There is forgiveness for sin. In your own writing, he is a past president. He is no longer in charge. He has to work out his own sin with God. It isn't our place to judge him.
