Just because you stayed up all night waiting for him and he didn't show up, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Just because people say that Santa doesn't exist, doesn't mean that he actually doesn't. Just because the map of the world shows us that there's no north pole, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. I mean, you've never traveled to the north pole to see for yourself that it isn't there...so how would you know?

The paragraph you just asked was the 2nd version of the paragraph below that a believer would ask:

Just because he didn't answer your prayer, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Just because atheists don't believe in him, doesn't mean that what they're saying is true. Just because you can't see him, doesn't mean that he's not there.

I know I'll be getting a lot of negative responses, but hey, do I give a sh!t? Say whatever you want, it's not like I'm going to go back to being an ignorant believer like I used to be. What disgusting memories.

Proverbs 23:13-14 "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell."
God and his word are forever and unchanging. Where is my rod?

I really wish I could join a religion but they all feel so fake, man-made and cult like. How can I develop my own personal god within me and feel the joy that those in religion experience?

Atheist why do you feel the need to blast Christians? ie. calling us retarded, stupid, brain washed mindless people... can you not get your point accros without insults? Christians do you ever get discouraged about how many missguided people are out there?

When most of the time all that is being displayed is indifference or contrariness.

Given the choice between living in a truly secular society where atheists form the majority and things like "In God We Trust" no longer exists on money and bibles can't be found in courtrooms and stem cell research exits and maybe even human cloning - that kind of society - OR - living in a theocracy, where the clergy rule as they do in many Muslim countries, which society would you rather live in?

A provacative question, perhaps, (or maybe not) but I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

lets's say you have two candidates running for president which we will be having in late 2008 anyway this part is hypothetical let's say that the two candidates were agnostic and christian now they both have some experience in the political game as i like to call it now the agnostic has 30 years of experience and the christian has 15 years of experience and the agnostic has some really good policies in place and has more experience in going about handling situations and the christian doesn't handle situations as good but has good policies in place who would you vote for and why?

The bible is not a valid answer, unless you can prove beyond doubt that it is 100% accurate, I do mean old and new testament and I also know a guy called Jesus lived etc. As for him being the son of god, well I think not.

Cleric Mahmud claims that the Quran's command to "beat" woman (4:34) who might leave their man is limited to beatings that dont break bones or cause bleeding. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wp3Eam5FX58&mode=related&search=

One Sheik says that it shouldnt be more than "10 times".

MUSLIMS: Are these moderates correct? Where does the Quran limit the severity of the beating?

Quran 4:34 "(as to those muslimah’s) on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them;" http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/004.qmt.html

If you believe in something that would fall into a religion, please name your religion then give a testimony of why for you it is true. If you feel it is the only "true" religion, please also bare testimony of that.
Please do not bash another religion, or try to convert one who disagrees with you.
If you do not have a particular religious belief, a simple Atheist or Agnostic or None will suffice.

Just curious.

when I first met my husband he was studying with the Jehovah Witness right along with me. I thought he was really a wonderful person, and because of his knowledge of bible truths thought he would make a wonderful person/mate. Well turns out, after we married he's an inconsiderate, rude, person. I do not come first in his life as far as being his wife. (I know Jehovah comes first). Was he just pretending so he can get a good wife for himself who is serious about learning bible truths. He knows being a baptized witness there is no such thing as divorce only in the case of sexual immorality. Is he just a devil in sheep's clothing?

"No Prophet shall come during the period between me and Jesus. And Jesus shall descend. Recognize him when you see him. He is a man of medium height and of a ruddy, fair complexion. He will be dressed in two pieces of a yellow garment. The hair on his head will appear as if water is trickling out of it, although his hair would not be wet. He will fight for the cause of Islam… And Jesus will kill Dajjal (the Antichrist). He will live on this Earth for a period of forty years, and at the end of this period he will pass away. The Muslims will offer the funeral prayers of Jesus.
-(Abu Dawud)

"The world will be placed beneath his feet … His eyes will see the distance too … He will see the unbelievers' castles and villages… "
-(Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rasul Barzanji, Al-Isha'ah li Ashrat as-Sa`ah, p. 244

When the Dajjal (antichrist) faces him [Jesus], he will begin to dissolve like salt in water. He [Jesus] will say to him:"I have to deal you a blow; you cannot escape"....
