Actually, as hard as it is to beleive, the Dead Sea freezes over several times per century. The super high concentration of salts makes the freezing temperature higher than normal. There is no reason it COULDNT have been ice he walked upon.

No. I do not believe the water was frozen. I believe it may have been a miracle. However, I am wondering why Jesus's disciples thought that they were seeing a Ghost when they saw Jesus walking on the water?
Mark 6:45-52 "...but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost..."
Matthew 14:22-33 "...When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said..."
However, Jesus was the son of God... God probably gave Jesus the ability to control everything in nature. This would mean that Jesus would have had the ability to control the water. Remember that God gave Moses supernatural abilities to control water as well.

Hello Joy L.. :)
If the water was frozen as some have said..
Peter walked on the water to meet Jesus and he started to sink, Jesus grabbed his hand, should not the the weight of them both together, cause the ice to break away..and they both would have sunk.. :(
Jesus walked on water.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I never saw Jesus walk on the water so I would guess if it is a true story, it would have been a frozen lake.

There was a special on PBS about a month ago. They identified where the spot was and that the water was not present when the Jews crossed but maybe did flood when they got to the other side. they are digging for chariots now in the area.

nope, wasn't frozen, because there was a fishing boat out on the water that Jesus was walking too. Jesus walked on the water. it says ..."Even the winds and the waves obeyed Him...:"
so, if Jesus wanted to walk on the water, he could.

He was hydroplaning in shallow water. Because of the setting sun, the reflection made it seem like he was walking in the deep stuff. How he got into the water, however is still a mystery. People will continue to argue for years over the exact sequence of events. But it was shallow. Oh, so shallow.
