Leviticus, Chapter 11

and the pig, which does indeed have hoofs and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud and is therefore unclean for you.

Their flesh you shall not eat, and their dead bodies you shall not touch; they are unclean for you.

However, in the New Testament, this law was "lifted." Because of Jesus' death on the cross (and resurrection),
sacrifices were no longer needed as Jesus was the final sacrifice and faith in Him was the only way man could be pure before God. It was no longer necessary for God's people to leave by these strict rules.

Was not the eating of blood also in the old testament?

You say that you believe that the bible is corrupted. Where is your proof? What scripture verses were tampered with. Tell me where the evidence is so that I can see it with my own eyes? If you cannot support your belief with facts, then Chriistianity must be the only true religion....right?

That we deny god? That may be the defination in some obviously christian biased dictionaries. So how do you deny something that doesn't exist? Saying we deny it means you have substantial proof that it is there.

First, I am a Christian. I know that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I have already accepted him as Lord and Savior.

But I am Protestant, and I've always wondered this of Catholics. Why wear the crucifix with Jesus still on the cross?

The story doesn't end there. Jesus isn't still on the cross. He rose from the dead three days later. Does it serve as a reminder to you of His death?

I don't mean to sound judgemental here. That is NOT the point. It is just a curiosity of mine.

i was checking out origins of canvas and came accross this,

"...that early man experimented with all plant materials that he could chew and could not have avoided discovering the properties of cannabis (marijuana), for in his quest for seeds and oil, he certainly ate the sticky tops of the plant. Upon eating hemp the euphoric, ecstatic and hallucinatory aspects may have introduced man to an other-worldly plane from which emerged religious beliefs, perhaps even the concept of deity.

The plant became accepted as a special gift of the gods, a sacred medium for communion with the spiritual world and as such it has remained in some cultures to the present."

i thought it was interesting.... what do you think?

I am a christian, and I was just studying the history of Christianity in Europe and Americas. I read about how superstitious beliefs caused many people to be killed by simply being acused of witchcraft. I believe that this is still going on in today's christian world, except they have taken it to a new level and things aren't exactly as it was before. Christians go to people's houses and preach about their beliefs regardless of what the person believes in. I, myself am a christian and there have been many cases where christians of other sects have come to my house trying to force me into accepting their point of view of religion, and when I say I am Christian, they still try to get my mindset on their level of belief. In addition, when I ask them to leave they get mad at me saying that I will go to hell for my beliefs. I really don't understand this. Doesn't anyone think this is the same thing that they did to witches before? now they're doing it to anyone...

I have been asking around and in Catholic schools, kids get Communion in 2nd grade and Reconciliation in 4th grade--but are taught you can't receive Communion without confession? So for two years they are sinning in not getting confession before communion? Why is that?

No disrespect meant and thank you in advance for answering

Okay, what I mean is, for atheists people always ask why we don't believe. Then they say that they believe because they have "faith". Does anyone ever just think "Well, dang, I didn't conciously choose not to have faith. I just...don't. How, then, can I be punished for this (going to Hell)?" I've been to church but honestly it is just to impossible for me to accept (thought I won't outrightly deny the existence of God, because I dont know). But I just wanted to know if other people ever think this way.
