You should look up Robert A Monroe and www.monroeinstitute.com . He wrote a book one astral projection. If you're successful in having an out of body experience, there's plenty of debate about whether you've left the earthly realm or just had a lucid dream, I don't know if that really matters. Also even if you have left your body, have you journeyed to a physical location or into what Monroe calls Locale 2? According to Monroe Locale 2 is not physical; It's like the mental aspect of a place. So to answer your question it's really all what you make of the experience. Techinically who's to say that Locale 1 is any more real than Locale 2 ?

the other planets are not worth visiting. you should travel to inida or disneyland while in your trance. maybe vist a YWCA and get a thrill.
the astral realm is just as good a realm as any other.
