polytheism as the bedrock belief of his church.He developed this doctrine over a period of years to reflect his belief that not only are there many gods but they once were mortal men who had developed in righteaousness until they had learned enough and merited godhood,"Eternal progression" is the term used by LDS, and they refer to godhood as "exaltation.My point is how can LDS consider themselves Christian when they base their theology on the teachings of joseph smith whom mormons revere as the highest authority in their church...a man clearly guilty of hearsay when he stated"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man,and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!" the general theory is that a good mormon man can be a God.Very strange theories for a Christian.....I guess the vast majority of Christians got it all wrong?, I think Jesus would not be pleased.God is eternal and infinatly perfect which one has to conclude he never was a man.I pray for you my brothers and sisters.
