I grew up in a Methodist (Protestant) church but have not been active in church for about 5 years.

However, I am trying to allow God to be active in my life again, and I am feeling a strong calling to visit a Roman Catholic church.

Having never even CONSIDERED a Roman Catholic church before only two days ago, I am definitely confused by this feeling and I'm not sure what to expect. However, the RCC focus on traditionalism is very attractive to me so I have made plans to visit a local Catholic church soon.

Basically, the breakdown of a Methodist church service is like this:

1) Opening music
2) Welcome/Announcements
3) Singing a hymn
4) Lord's Prayer
5) Offering w/ music
6) Song (sung by the choir)
7) Sermon from the minister
8) Singing a hymn
9) Call for church membership
10) Benediction

Service is about an hour long.

Can any Catholics please reply and tell me what a Catholic Mass is like? Is it similar to the Protestant service I just described? How long does a typical Mass last?

What i mean is Our Lady told Luke and Luke wrote it down,Also that Luke painted the first picture of Our Lady.

I definately heard about the painting on EWTN but as for the gospel i cant remember where i got that,

They enjoy attacking other religions as if they have copyrights on "God's Children's" label. But they are quick as lightning to cry blasphemy when they are attacked or even asked innocent questions.

I am not brief for Islam (I am not a believer in any religion) but I hope that the joy you are now getting in defiling Islam is building a wall of tolerance in you and you shall accept outright attack on Christianity.

most of people belive on his LORD, they give different names to it, some says GOD, ALLAH, JESSUS, BHAGWAN and more others, the basic belive of immagination is the same. everyone ask for help or when in need, and ask for forgiveness when needed, and thanks to GOD when their problems get solved. the only difference is that different people pray to their GOD in different ways, according to their belives.. some belive that GOD is in fire,, some belive GOD is in water, statue, in air and some belives that GOD exists but cannot be found in metarialistic or hand made things... SO THAT MEANS EVERYONE BELIVES THE GOD... THE FOCUS IS THE SAME THE LOARD IS THE SAME . THAN WHY EVERY RELIGION FIGHTS WITH OTHER AND WHY EVERY RELIGION SAYS THAT THE OTHER RELIGION IS WRONG ??

why dyou complain about everything and say its against yer religion when its got nowt to do with your religeon. if we dont bow down 2 u and make everything poerfect, u complain. and if a Muslim attacs an English man and gets the crap beaten out of him, the law sides with the muslim because you say the guy attacked u cos he is racist, which is untrue. the government pratically bows down 2 u yet u still complain about everything.

Fritjof Capra, in his book 'The Tao of Physics', hypothesises that the 'uncertainty principle' of Quantum Mechanics shares ground with the religious mystic viewpoint that things can 'exist or not exist', and that the Universe cannot be explained by the intellect.

This unifying thought seems to me to imply that God is a symbol for everything we cannot 'know' about our existence. Whaddya think?

A lot of Christians think that once you are saved you are always saved. I think that is bulldust. Me personaly I believe once saved not always saved. I mean what happens if a person gets saved, and then straight after that or a few years later murders someone then dies. Me personaly I believe that person will end up in Hell. Say a person becomes a Christian and them goes and lives a double life of drinking, partying, etc and dies. I believe that person will end up in hell. Christians why do so many Christians believe in the once saved always saved theory? Jesus said not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only those that do the will of my Father who is in Heaven. Jesus will declare depart from me, I never knew you, you who practice lawlessness. I believe if a christians gets saved and them turns their backs on Jesus, they will end up in Hell. It is a tough journey to keep your salvation. Bible says blessed at the pure in heart, as they will see God.

I believe in God, but where did God come from? It has troubled me since I was young and the adults only answered me with, "He has just always been there." God made us, I just want to know where He came from.
