Spend more time in the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit will do his work in you.
What kind of church are you in? Do you attend? Do you get good fellowship opportunities? Is it a good, Bible-focused church?

I hope I'm not minimising how difficult this must be for you but it sounds like your just maturing in your faith. I'm training to be a minister and pretty much everyone here goes through that at least once. It's often a sort of boot camp God puts people he wants to use through - Joseph, David, Moses, etc. The million dollar question is are you going to keep pushing into God? Is God who he is nomatter where you are?
St John of the cross wrote about the "dark night of the soul", the Psalmists write over and over about this type of thing.
There's a tiny phrase in Psalm 119 that says "Save me for I am yours" - it's an idea that runs throughout the old testament. It might be that this can become your breath prayer at this time.
It might be that your dissatisfied with the glimpse of Jesus that you see - one that doesn't seem to encompas all the complexities of life - it might be that in the words of Tim Huges you're saying "there must be more than this".
If this is you then do keep pushing into this - pray, read books by christian authors you would normally avoid (there might be some aspect of their thinking that is actually really helpful - and you don't have to take on board everything they say).
It's a constant theme of the Exile (the last half of the Old Testament where God's people were captured, their temple was burned down and everything they knew of their faith was undermined) - they were told to push into God... and God showed that he was bigger than their previous conceptions of God - and he did have an answer that was even bigger than the suffereing etc they saw - Jesus was born.
So keep going! I'm sort of speaking to myself here - God is bigger than we know - big enough to cope with any questions or uncertainty.
Grace,
x

you are finally getting the nerve to make a clean break from all that freaky crap come on don't lock your self back in that cocoon of ignorance where all you can think of is that little piece of la la land of eternity. Where you are so tightly wrapped you think your fantasy boogie man Satan will jump up and bite your butt if you dare to think. You are free now leave the garbage for the trash collector. You don't need any of that nonsense. BB

Go to God on his terms, tell him to help you with your disbelief on his terms, in his timinig. He will do as he says. Perhaps there's some sin in your life that is keeping you from drawing close to him, or perhaps you had a crisis that God didn't help you with the wayyou thought he should. These times a normal, don't fret, but also don't give up.

You used to believe, but you did not strengthen your faith with knowledge. In order to believe firmly in the One True God, you have to read the Holy Books and put the sacred verses into practice. Your faith can be strengthened only by your conscious knowledge and your own experience through charitable actions.

I can relate to you. I've been there myself. If you're not going to church regularly try finding a church which you are comfortable at and join a study group. I find that spending time with fellow Christians helps me to strengthen my faith. Also spending more time in prayer helps.

Is it possible that your undoubting faith in God was an irrational emotional high and now you've sobered up to reality? Just a thought.

God is real, proof is all around you. Every single day and everything that is in you and around you is a miracle. Think about it, there are plenty of reasons to be in awe by God's creation. And it has been created for our enjoyment. First you need to find peace in your hearth. The first step you have taken it by wanting to renew your faith and ask in this forum. Stop by focusing in you and your problems, look around you, there are plenty of reasons to feel grateful. Fill your self with love for nature, for others, for everything around you and finally for yourself. Love is the ultimate gift God has giving us and it is a liberating force that brings us closer to him and to a state of enlightenment and contempt. Jesus is our brother, whenever I feel alone or depressed I imagine him next to me, a modern version of Jesus of course, but he plays with me and cheers me up in my imagination and all of the sudden Poof! my worries are gone.
If you can watch movies that can bring you into enlightment, watch what da bleep do we know about and the dark cave by deepak chopra.
Good bless and I know you will be fine.......
Love yourself, love the earth and love others and help them find inner peace and inner love and you will feel very rewarded.
Cheers!
