I was thinking about what some people say that the gospels werent written until the 2nd centuary and i remembered hearing that the Gospel of saint Luke was actually told by Mary.

What i mean is Our Lady told Luke and Luke wrote it down,Also that Luke painted the first picture of Our Lady.

I definately heard about the painting on EWTN but as for the gospel i cant remember where i got that,

The exact timing is disputed, but most scholars reckon that Paul's texts (the Epistles) were written around 50 -65 CE, Mark 68-73, Matthew 70-100, Luke and Acts a bit later and John probably early in the second century (around 90 -110). These are ballpark figures only, and some texts might have had multiple authors and editings to get them to a form we recognise today.

Mary was long dead by then - if she spoke to Luke we're talking mythology here.

Do you have any knowledge in the history of the bible? The bible is a compendium of books by different authors from different time periods. It is a fact that not a single original manuscript of any book of the bible exists today. We cannot, therefore, say that, in the present tense, "they are inerrant". Furthermore, by the time the latest book of the bible was written, all of the original manuscripts had long since been worn out and replaced by copies. There were no firsthand copies. They were copies of copies of copies....and on and on. This means that nobody ever saw the entire bible as it was originally written.
Even if the original manuscripts were inerrant - and there is no evidence that they were - there is presently no way to determine which parts of the bible were originally "true" and which parts are now "false" or errant.

Much of the bible is borrowed from earlier, ancient religions. Many of the names and incidents are strikingly similar. Easter is of Pagan origin. Christmas was celebrated by older religions long before Christ arrived.
