I believe in God, but where did God come from? It has troubled me since I was young and the adults only answered me with, "He has just always been there." God made us, I just want to know where He came from.

Its says he is the begining and the end the alpha and the omega God was there before the time was created By definition, an infinite, eternal being has always existed — \ no one created God. He is the self-existing one — \ the great 'I am' of the Bible. He is outside of time — \ in fact, He created time.

You might say, 'But that means I have to accept this by faith, as I can't understand it.'

We read in the book of Hebrews, 'But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him' (Hebrews 11:6).The Bible informs us that time is a dimension that God created, into which man was subjected. It even tells us that one day time will no longer exist. That will be called "eternity." God Himself dwells outside of the dimension He created (2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:2). He dwells in eternity and is not subject to time. God spoke history before it came into being. He can move through time as a man flips through a history book.Because we live in the dimension of time, it is impossible for us to fully understand anything that does not have a beginning and an end. Simply accept that fact, and believe the concept of God's eternal nature the same way you believe the concept of space having no beginning and end -- by faith -- even though such thoughts put a strain on our distinctly insufficient brain.

Consider that time may not exist (scientifically this is very possible, I'm not being a looney). If that is the case, the idea of "coming from" is meaningless. In that case, God could have "always been".

However you should then also understand that the universe could have also simply "always been there" as well, and that God is unnecessary for it's creation because creation doesn't truly happen, only reorganization.

The lack of time argument works for believers and non-believers both.

And that is the ONLY answer you ever Will get. Because thats what it is all about. A huge Cop Out. Just like if you ask a big banger where did the bang come from, they'll tell you a bigger bang, then you ask em where that came from, and eventually it's "just there" Truth is, we will not know in OUR lifetime, but one day, with a big enough telescope, and some far out space probes, we can see where the universe came from.

Truth is, nobody knows where it started. And nobody knows where God came from. Faith is just a way to dodge the question and mask the fact that we really aren't smart enough to have the answers yet. maybe one day, but until it is proven, we can just sit here and argue.

Such questions are asked because of the misunderstanding people have in their minds. God is not a creation nor a creature, He is the Creator, the Doer.

God created time and place, therefore he cant be part of his creation. God is above time and above place so the word "where and from" in your question makes no sense. And this applies to the dimension of time too, that's why we say God was before the beginning and will be there after the end.

God "did not come" because He was above that all.
I hope I was understood ;)

The Bible tells us that God is everlasting. That phrase actually way with out time. So God has continuously been. The dollar stops with him. Speaking for myself, it is unimaginable to fairly recognize eternity, however there you've it. God is the thriller from which the whole lot got here. There was once not anything earlier than him. He's the A to Z, the Alpha and Omega, the starting and the tip. He's the high mover, the customary rationale of the whole lot.

Straight out of the human brain.
The god of the Bible started life as a desert demon, turned into a male/female god like the Assyrian Marduk, and then turned into a thunder/storm god for a while (psalm 15) before he became the transcendendent, but purely male deity that most Christians seem to believe in today. Since such a god would be responsible for all the evil in the world, but is supposed to be good, they had to invent the devil, and they made him up from the bits of the discarded male gods whose aspects Jahwe had given up.
I resent the present-time theology, since the female aspect of the divine has no place in it, except a minor one in the Virgin/Mother in the Catholic and Orthodox denominations.

There are two things about existence that help us to understand the nature of God to the extent that we are able to and then our minds must rest in the knowledge that God is greater than anything we can know. We are not able to comprehend in its entirety the universe we live in, in the sense that if we try to conceive of the edge of the universe there is no answer. Is there another universe beyond it? Then what is beyond that one? Or in the case of parallel universes. What is beyond all of the universes put together?

We are not able to grasp the concept of time in full either. Even if we have the understanding that this world or present universe is finite in time, what came before it and what will come after it?

These two concepts that our finite brain are not able to grasp in full help us to appreciate the greatness of our God. Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

God did not come from anywhere, He is everywhere. That is why He calls Himself "I AM". To imply that He came from somewhere is to imply that He was created. If He was created, He would not be the Almighty God that He is in the Bible. And that would make Him a liar, thus destroying all religions.

Some things are taken and believed on pure faith, that He is who the Bible says He is and can do what the Bible says He can.

If He comes from something, that someting is the One True God.
Until now, all the Messengers of God reveal in their Holy Books that 'There is no God but God'. Nobody has greater knowledge than Them to answer differently.
