Hi
Can't speak for all theology courses but I'm doing a postgrad in theology at Oxford Uni in the UK and the traditional subjects in accademic theology are
The Bilbe
Church History
Doctrine - ie things we believe that aren't explicitly spelled out in the Bible (how the Trinity works, how God speaks, in what sense are non believers in the image of God etc)
Coinia Greek (and sometimes Hebrew) - the languages the Bible was written in
Ethics (eg human sexuality, abortion, etc)
You might also get something on Spirituality if you're lucky - ie learning from people who have pushed deeper into prayer

Hope this helps - check out my college's web site www.wycliffe.ox.ac.uk
I'm doing theology post grad training to be a vicar but we have a number of undergrads here too (the first one was the worship songwriter Vicky Beeching - who badgered Oxford Uni to let her do theology at its evangelical vicar factory) - if I was doing my under grad again I would definitely think about doing theology here.
Hope things go well for you anyway,
Grace

Studying theology on a good course is one of the best things you can do! I recommend it as I've been on a part-time course (for people who work) for five years now. It was so good, that after getting my Certificate and then Diploma, I continued just for the enjoyment of it! The link is
www.freechurchvideo.co.uk
and check out the Free Church itself on www.freechurch.org

This course has three subjects: New Testament, Old Testament and Christian Doctrine and it includes practical theology and Church history. In five years, no topic has ever been duplicated. All studying is done at home, with once-per-month lectures (which can be 'attended' via the video link) all day Saturday, then three essays are submitted to the Professors. The course runs from October to May. You could also e-mail amacleod@freescotcoll.ac.uk

All the best with your enquiries - may the Lord himself lead you.

Theology is the study of God. To study God is to study Ultimate Truth in a classical form. Philosophy, science, religion, the Bible, and other classic forms of knowledge combined together.

Search for Truth is the goal.

"The study of philosophy is not the study of what men have opined, but of what is the truth"

Different than science, but just as valuable to humanity.
