Well in our household we are all Christians and don't believe in having sex before marriage because God states so in the Bible, but she went out and had sex...and get this!...with an 18 yr old sophomore in high school male, who is also a member of our church. Don't get me wrong he is VERY intelligent when it comes down to the Bible and Church (i mean he literally knows the Bible back and front!) and he also wants to be a Pastor when he gets older...but what he did went against the teachings of God, so wouldn't that make him a hypocrite?! i mean i know we ALL make mistakes sometimes...but this is DIFFERENT right?!..i really don't know...i just get upset whenever i see her...she doesn't even communicate with the family after what happened...and my dad didn't really talked to her about what she did...apparently he is uncomfortable about these things! and my mom is always trying to talk about it with her, but she just ignores it...how should i react and what should i do??

...and incapable of convincing each other, is it safe to assume that one or both of them are somehow incapable of rational thought? Ignorance doesn't count as an excuse because the intelligent men can present each other with evidence.

What about all the different beliefs on this site? All the different religions keep on trying to convert each other, yet never seem to get anywhere. Each side has evidence and proof that they are right that makes sense to them, yet they have such problems convincing others...

Is it fair to say that something like 90% of the population of planet Earth is incapable of thinking rationally about their religion? I know, I know, you have some sort of uber-evidence, and would doubtless like to show it to me so you don't have to deal with the possibility that you are in that 90% faction. Please, save yourself the trouble.

My question is what criteria do you set for absolute certainty in anything if you might just be insane?

I either saw it in a movie or read it some place......for I do not recall. I just want to know if some of the teachings out there concerning religion/a particuliar faith(s) teach that there are "different levels of hell"...

Would it be devastating to atheists, if they got here, and they believed in God, and their Holy Texts spoke about one God Who became flesh and gave His life for sin, and is now alive forevermore??
Interesting thought, isn't it??

I asked a question recently explaining the actions of a Muslim cleric in my country who has released a DVD in which he apparently encourages children to die for Allah or something along those lines. One of the answers, obviously a Muslim, spoke of the media in which when Christians denounce other religions, it’s freedom of speech, but when a Muslim does, it’s a hate speech inciting terrorism. Obviously, Christians don’t encourage their children to die for Jesus, so the Muslims comparison is flawed. But as I write this, there are soldiers from Christian countries killing Muslims in their homes.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; END RELIGION BEFORE RELIGION ENDS US.

I think it is stupid that they are outlawing it. If this is a free country why cant gay people be married. Being gay has also been documented in alsmost evry species of animal which makes it natural.

I could not find anything against abortion in the bible, but it does state that life begins when a baby draws it's first breath. In Genesis 2:7, when god "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" Seems to me god would want anti-abortion to be crystal clear. He must be pro-choice

The stories of Horus, Adonis, Quirinus, Indra, Mithra, Attis, Buddha, Krishna, and Quexalcote are all very similar to the story of jesus and all happened many years before jesus. The evidence suggests that the jesus story is just another myth cut from the same cloth.
