Have you listened to some Christian leaders lately?
You will be surprised that Christian leaders don´t bypass these problems. That is our main concern. But, at the same time, we believe that if you put your faith in God, you will be empowered beyond limits and you will hope for a better society and better human beings.
A Christian leader, whose name was Paul, wrote:
2 Corinthians 12:19
"Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening. ".
God bless you!

Atheist question here, directly from the Bible.

2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
1 John 4:8 "God is Love."
1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."

Now there are at leat 9 places where it talks of the importance of fearing God in the NT alone (the OT is much more). I still don't see how these verses can be reconciled? Of course, someone would have to open their eyes to these contradictions to have to reconcile them in the first place. Since that is the very heart of self empowerment, how can a Christian offer it to others?

Forgiveness has sweetness that revenge can never have.

Your statement make sense. They need to build on common human values Rather than split us apart. However, the religious leaders are not the only one to blame. The common believer need have a bigger share of the blame by not standing up to the pseudo-leaders when they exhort to something which is bypassing the pressing priorities. This can only be done only if there was no church hierarchy to keep them in place whether people like it or not.

Some do and others do not. People like John Paul II stood up against communism to honor God and Mother Theresa decided to serve the needs of poor people to honor God. God is infinite and people are not. There are many different ways that people understand God.

In other words, you think it would be better if today's religious leaders taught the same sort of things that Jesus taught the people?
Yeah, I agree...that would be totally cool....

You have to remember that many, And I do mean many religious leaders have money and power on their minds and not God........ And their knowledge of God is very limited.................................. Also no pastor should be that involved into the politics of society but totally with God and his endowment plan that he has set up for the betterment of mankind...........................................................
