Regardless of ethic back ground, there are a millions of under-privileged children in this world who need our help.
Would'nt you call a person who refused to help a child because they were the wrong color a bigot?
And if that same person sniveled about her people being discriminated against because of their color, yet refused to help under-privileded children because they were not of her race.
Wouldn't you call that person a hypocrite who promotes prejudice?

My five year old keeps on asking as he has baby photos with people who have passed on. We are atheists so don't want to fob him off with superstitious nonsense but have been avoiding answering his questions. What do you suggest?

Have you ever experienced some event, that was generally very unlikely to happen, but it did happen and changed the whole course of your life?

I mean as well small things, such as meeting incidentally the person you`ve been secretly in love with in a very big city or some very evident interference of destiny?

Something like this happened to me 4 years ago, and I`m studying in the city I wanted to, because I incidentally met a total stranger at the airport who offered me help and accomodation. Otherwise I would have gone to a smaller city I never wanted to live in.

It was a real concidence that changed the course of my life. It has nothing to do with religion, but I since then I do believe in destiny.

What`s your miracle?

"You mean God is love!? If only I had know this sooner!"

It seems like a lot of proselytizers believe people are simply ignorant of their beliefs, that we haven't heard the "good news". Even the word Evangelical has, as its root word, "evangel", which means "good news". Muslims regularly urge others to read the Koran, as though it's a mysterious new book none of us ever read in College anyway.

Is it a sign of a certain kind of belief system or a habit leftover from when people really were unaware of these religions?

Death is around us everywhere... Each day around 260,000 people die. Young, old, strong, weak, sickness, accidents, war, terror, etc... Tommorow is promised to noone. I implore you to call upon Christ for grace and forgiveness while you still can. He longs to hear from you and does not you to have the pay the penalty for your sins in Hell. He paid your penalty on the cross, yet it is up to you to repent and call upon Him for mercy.

If you are "born gay" which nobody is, you're still supposed to wait until you find the right woman to marry, which is why I am a 48 year old virgin! Can we all agree?

Isaiah 5:20-Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

John 20:31-But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

(Matthew 7:20-to-23) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

(Mat 7:21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

(Mat 7:22) MANY = = will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? = = and in thy name have cast out devils? = = and in thy name done many wonderful works?

(Mat 7:23) And then will I profess unto them, = = I never knew you: = = depart from me, = = ye that work iniquity. [YOU Who Work LAW-LESS-NESS]

Did JESUS say Many, Some or Few = WILL SAY TO ME...?

I ask this because we know that everyone uses multiple translations of the bible. we know that some of these add things and some take away things. we also know that it is in our nature to speak in broad picturesque terms. e.g. "i would just DIE for a piece of that cake!" probably doesn't make sense to many foreign languages if translated directly across. they might think someone is religiously attatched to the cake if they found that written 2,000 years later. well, pick an idiom and then think of it literally. there are thousands. how can we be sure that we have translated all the idioms in the bible correctly?

1 John 5:7-8 NIV
7For there are three that testify: 8the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

1 John 5:7-8 KJV
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. And there are three that witness on earth, the Spirit, the Water and the Blood and these three agree in one.

What standard of morality do gaays go by in judging things to be immoral?

It's not God's laws and it's not civil law because they want those to be changed to suit their agenda.

Here are among the less inane questions asked. Yes, this are the *less* inane ones.

1. "Atheists, your own cultural molding?"
2. "Why do atheists refrain from cheating, even when they know they won't get caught?"
3. Do atheists worship Karl Marx?

There is no difference between the scientific method and religious texts. Both were created by man. You may claim divine inspiration in some cases, but they are still man-made. Why couldn't the scientific method have been developed by divine inspiration?

I asked earlier if God influences who wins the lottery, and received an almost unanimous "NO" answer.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsckicGPwHpvQOITzUewasbzy6IX?qid=20070107102958AAHBfZp

(These answers were in spite of the bounty reportedly distributed in the miracles of manna in the desert and the feeding the 4000 and the 5000.)

But if God doesn't effect who receives bounty from the lottery, then why conclude that God instead determines who lives or dies from cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, or other life-threatening maladies?
