I asked earlier if God influences who wins the lottery, and received an almost unanimous "NO" answer.

(These answers were in spite of the bounty reportedly distributed in the miracles of manna in the desert and the feeding the 4000 and the 5000.)

But if God doesn't effect who receives bounty from the lottery, then why conclude that God instead determines who lives or dies from cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, or other life-threatening maladies?

How can you possibly know if God affects the lottery or not? No one in here knows that. Isn't there a jewish expression, the lot is in the lap of the Lord? Didn't even Jonah cast lots to decide who's fault the storm was? That's where the reference of the white stone comes from in the different places in the Bible. A white stone was positive and a black stone was negative. The high priest would settle some arguments this way if I'm not mistaken. I do believe God can and does affect whatever He wishes that will work out for Him and His plan for humanity. If that means winning the lottery then it means winning the lottery. If it means we are healed this side of heaven, then it means we are healed. Saying God cannot or will not do something to me seems a bit arrogant. God will do what He wishes. He will not go against His nature but as I said, He can and does move on humanity when it serves Him and His plans.

But, if you read the story of the "Manna from Heaven" you will also find that God told his people to ONLY take what they needed for that DAY, NOTHING MORE. The ones that did try to take more than what they needed for that day found that the extra was spoiled and rotten.

God knows peoples hearts and he also knows what GREED CAN AND WILL DO TO PEOPLE.

Doesn't that tell you that there is no god? How could there be with all the one-sided 'unfairness' in the world? It would seem that he picks and chooses his favorites and the rest are sick, poor and lost. That would be a great god, indeed. Ya, let me praise that.

God can influence whatever he wants

He may or may not want someone to win the lottery and he may or may not want someone to live. Who knows?
