I'm a creationist but I simply cannot fathom taking the Bible literally. There are many contradictions throughout and many of the stories sound like fairy tales.

Can we believe in a created world that was designed to evolve? Are some ready to admit that parts of the Bible were written or altered by politicians of the day and NOT the word of God?

Could it be argued that the key to finding God is within ALL religions?

There are many religons and i am just curious on which religon is recongnized the most not the religon that is practiced the most only the religon that is recongnized.And I wanna know why they are recongnized. ....and when writing this i would not want to read any dissapointing remarks about other religons i just wanna servey.

I have had countless accounts terminated by Yahoo for speaking the truth about Islam. Many times, they were terminated right after Islamic posters promised that they would have it terminated. But these censorship efforts are not good enough for Muslims.

As the muslim above says, Yahoo itself must be prejudice because they dont censor everything OTHER PEOPLE WRITE all the time as Muslims see fit.

Thats called "Islamic logic"...and by the way...it works. My money is on the ignorant little Islamic ape in his efforts...only a fool would bet the other way.

In the meantime, I shall try to eek everylast bit free expression is left before the Islamic censorship hord finishes the job.

in other words : Is this universe fined tuned ? is it by chance that all the physics constants (speed of light,gravitational ,plank constant ...) happen to be so right for us to exist ?

OK first don't all you Christians start getting happy because you've turned and athiest. I'll always be one.

But say that I did believe in god as he is described in your book, would it be good enough just to respect him? What if I don't worship anything, what if I see worshipping things as lowering myself before another and that is degrading.

Would god accept my respect or demand I worship him?

I need to ask you what religion are you? What? Are you Baptist? No? Catholic?

Listen you need to join the Baptist church, cause then you can kneel at the preacher's altar and do a special incantation, and be forgiven for every time that you were aroused while reading the Bible.

As a matter of fact, you will be forgiven also for future times that you get aroused while reading the Bible. That is a deal you cannot get in the Catholic church.

If you do this holy incantation before the Baptist preacher, you can get aroused as often as you like and each time be forgiven immediately, and that goes for other sins too. But be discreet. All they ask is that you be discreet. The Baptist church offers a deal on salvation that you will find in no other church, so I urge you to call them for all the details.

And I ask all other people in Yahoo Answers, do you too want a deal whereby you can sin and get saved too? Everybody?

Besides God showing up to you in some Grand fashion,cause it's not gonna happen(Yes I said it, that's not gonna happen) what exactly is it your looking for before you believe in God(Jesus Christ)?

Or is the Bible right(and you and I both know it is) in that it doesnt matter how much "proof and evidence" we show you;ya'll still wont believe?

The best answer was something like... "each person makes their own purpose, or none at all." I guess my purpose in life is to feed, clothe and educate my children so they'll be happy and live long lives. I don't need a "God" telling me what my purpose is.
