I know a friend and a enemy who are Christian... but never understand what the pupose of being here or so whatever. So can anyone tell what type of religion is to believe and what the pupose of it?

religious person...But you do what is fair to do and so forth...WILL YOU STILL GO TO HEAVEN IF THERE IS SUCH A THING...you obey the laws,,,,and so forth???

Through reading the bible, I noticed that the writings of Jesus talk about Jesus wanting people to have a personal relationship with God, and to avoid a formal, religious way of being with God. He talks this way for the majority during the writings where he is alive. He is point our attention towards God. Then, when he is not directly talking to people, during the trial, and after he is dead, his writing turn towards the set up of a church. I know one can quote many passages, but if you take the context as a whole from everything Jesus has said...I think he wants us to have our attention on God and not him, and that it should be a personal relationship with God...This is just my own personal opinion.

is the only way of proving god`s existence by religion?i do not like religion and i like to prove existence of god scientifically.i do not think many rules of religions r logical.they belong to many years before and were useful for those days.i think god gave us braion to use it so we should use it,cause wisdom makes us near to god.
so i want every one to say if they believe in god through religion or science or through both of them.thanks

bear with me. It's a long question to ask, but I've been dying to know for years.

Why, when Christians pray (esp fundy typs) they use a certain kind of "language" they NEVER use outside of prayer. In particular they use the word "just" a lot. It's the most bizarre thing to me. "Lord, today, we just ask that you just bless us Lord. And we just want to praise you..."

Does anybody know what I mean, and most importantly --- WHY do you talk like that? Please help!!

The Bible says if we don't forgive others he will not forgive us. So does this mean, that if someone has more to forgive than most, does God give them more understanding and patience, or does he judge them the same as someone who has endured little, with only one person to forgive? How can a person with more to forgive find it easier to understand this if they are not given more patience. For instance, some people who have been abused for years by several people, and it might take them longer than someone who just has to forgive a friend who betrayed them once. Does God not see a difference?

This is the third time im tryng to post this question.
Yahoo refuses to post it, I do not know why.
I have been refreshing my e-mail, and nothing. No reason.

Does Greek grammer ever allow nouns to be definite whether or not the Greek definite article (the) is present? Example, John 1:1
Also Heb. 10:31, esi keiras theou zontos (into the hands of the living God). The "New World Translation" puts the two "the"s here, but puts an "A" in John 1:1. please explain

I was thinking of starting a prayer chain for them and thought this might be a good place to start. I know it might be unlikely that they be found alive but it is CHRISTmas and Miracles do happen and I am hoping for one for there families this Christmas. Two families have lost two fathers this Christmas and I hate to see two more families grieve this way. I hope and pray that they be found alive and I am praying that the families find the strength to get through whatever happens. Please those who are religious or those who believe please pray with me. You don't know how many times I hear of people who grew up going to church but something happened where they became atheist, humanist, etc...

If something happened to you because of a bad religious experience...what was it...

Or the other way...you grew up in a family with no religious beliefs and someone introduced you to a belief system...how did that change you?

Or you grew up and borrowed your parents faith but now that you have grown up you have your own faith that may be stronger..

Go either way here.
