would people start to think that there is nothing wrong with it? Would they even look in the Bible to cherry pick verses to try to justify wanting to kill someone who may be an inconvenience to the lifestyle they wish to live?

If something doesnt happen these christians are going to be the downfall of the western way of life. With their anti-science, anti-abortion bullcrap and all.

I've been told being gay is not a sin, that aving an abortion is not a sin, that fornicating is not a sin and the list goes on, but how can people who aren't saved and don't live by the Bible and some don't believe in God tell us what sin is? If they don't believe then how can you tell us what sin is? I don't understand can you explain it to me?

I just wonder why Christions were afraid to answer a legitimate question from their own Holy Bible. Were you so shocked that some one could see where Paul violated Gods covenant in order to recruit heatherns to Christiany?

In my company we have a prayer room which is open to anybody of any faith. I'm proud of it but do you really think its a bad thing?
Why?

For those christians, I'll let you know that Christians pray there too, not just muslims.

Anyway, mabye its a Canadian thing.

protestant believe that she wasnt because jesus use to always talk about his brothers, but the bible specifically mentions that jesus was born of a virgin birth ,so i think ,
1-that mary was a virgin and those brothers jesus use to talk about are us ,because it is mention in the bible that we are all brothers and sisters.
or maybe
2- mary was a virgin when she had jesus and then had those other children.
or
3-mary was never a virgin
Catholics n protestants which of these 3 statements u believe n y?

It seem like every time I embark on a spiritual quest there are people who pop up and start saying things that seem to be designed to impede my journey. What is this? Are these demons or something like them?

about 6 years ago - and it still burns like fire, especially because he came down to my country, we lived together for a couple of years and then he found someone else in my country and left me. This year, after I did not think too much of him anymore, he came after me by writing emails and the wound has open again. He came, he hurt me again and he is gone again. I was almost healed and then he came again and the sore point is hurting as it never did before. I need to let it go, I need to release this man, he is such a confusing one, facing many health problems right now. He also lost all his possessions because someone stole him on his business. I tried to comfort him and again he hurt me bad. Please, help me to let it go, help me to release the pain. I am a good woman, I need to move on with my life and forgive this guy. We are not young anymore. He is 64 and I am 52.

God doesn't seem to think it's such big a deal.

Exodus 21:22 says, "If men strive and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart fom her...he shall be punished according to the woman's husband...and pay a fine determined by a judge."

It seems like a minor sin compared to:

Exodus 21:17 "He that curseth his father or mother, shall surely be put to death."

But no Christians are lobbying for a Constitutional Amendment to prevent kids from swearing at their parents.

Exodus is the same chapter where the 10 Commandments are found. "Thou shat not kill" is found there. And even though Jesus says to "love your enemies", some Christians intrepret that it means we shouldn't kill fetuses but we can kill our enemies.

I personally am not a beleiver... In fact I am an agnostic...

However, I just saw someone with a 'question' giving out seriously interesting insights into what becomming is Muslim is...

and i was absolutely shocked at the total lack of tollerance from the Christian community to this person...

Infact someone even quoted that bible passage that beleivers in false gods should be destroyed...

Maybe I'm just on a rant... but its this kind of Bullsh*t that really gets my goat with Christians largely, this hugely self righteous beleive in ones own religion and that total lack of tollerance and in most cases patronisation of people of other faiths...

Share your thoughts....

Best answer will not necessarily go to the one who agrees with me, i'm open on this and beleive it or not, the best answer will be the best answer.

I belong to a Christian church. It's a combination baptist and pentacostal. I saw a muslim couple worshipping Jesus with lifted hands. It was a beautiful thing to see especially at Christmas.

This is a quote from an R&S answer I just read:

"If atheists are so happy, why do they spend all of their time obsessed with Christianity? If Yahoo Answers is any indication, atheists are more devoted to Christianity than most Christians!"

I'd like to point out that Y!A R&S is *not* a Christian forum, and people come to ask and answer about *all* faiths.

I'm an (extremely happy!) atheist pagan, and I live in America. I know all I care to know about Christianity, but here on R&S I have learned more about Islam, Judaism and Buddhism than I could in the provincial town in which I live.

What's your belief and why are you here today?

What have you learned that you might otherwise have missed out on?
