I agree with Mother. I am 14, I am Christian, and I don't go to Church. I talk to God through my prayers at night. However, I too, wish I went to Church. I probably will when I grow up. But I don't think you have to tell anyone about it, however you can if you want.

Pick a church and go. I tried several churches in my area before I found one that I liked. When I was trying to decide, there were several factors that I considered - the message (and this is really the most important), the size of the church, the people, etc. I had an extra problem to consider because I heave hearing problems in one ear, and some of churches were so loud that I couldn't make head or tails of what they were trying to say. I finally found one that taught scripture, and was friendly, not too big, and didn't cause my ear to hurt. I've been there for a couple of years, and have met a bunch of nice people, and I didn't know a single person in that church when I walked through the door. I pray you find a suitable church home, and that you continue to follow Christ.

Know the doctrine you follow and then check out each church's mission statement to make sure it follows what you believe.
What do you want in a church?
Sound doctrine.
Social interaction with the opposite sex.
Studying the Word of God.
Community group to join.
Community outreach center.
A place for you to contribute your skills and talents.
List what you want, then call different churches and ask them if they offer those things.
Attend a few that sound promising.
When calling, ask if you must have permission to attend. Usually you do not need permission in a protestant church. I am not sure about other churches.
I hope that helps. There are good online sites as well if you are looking for Bible study as your main focus in going to church.
Good luck and God bless!

Most every church I have ever attended, I just went. Most churches unless they are quite small, will not even notice that you are new. If you want a really warm welcome from folks that appreciate you being there, try a Kingdom Hall. You will also find that you learn much more about the Bible in a shorter period of time at the Kingdom Hall. Bring your Bible with you so you can look up the scriptures as they use them.

If you have any friends that go, ask them can you go along with them, I am sure they would be happy, but no you dont have to tell anyone, most churches do ask for their first time visitors to stand so they can welcome you in and help you in any ways that you need help, check your phone book for local churches, and some may even have websites so you can see a picture of the pastor, the church read up on the church some, I hope you find one that is good for you,

No need to tell anyone.
It might help your experience if you go with someone you know. Look for someone that you think is a true christian because of his/her testimony and ask him to take you to church.
Find out how people dress to go to services so you don't feel out of place.
Find out about services. Some churches have services during the whole week specially for adults, young adults, elders, kids, women, men, etc. It might be easier to start with one of these groups which are reduced in numbers and are more informal than the main weekly meetings.
Get yourself a Bible and go!. Please read it, don't just assume everything you are told is true.

You will probably need to visit several "churches" befor you settle on one. I very much recomend small, Bible teaching , churches. Like Bible Baptist or concervative Baptist. there are also many non-deniminational small churches.... I invite you to visit my website... it is just me going on a bit on all of the God Stuff. I talk alittle about all the "different flavors" of Christians. and I give my doctrinal statement and testimony and a lot of my "rambelings"... check it out if you like. And if you have questions you can contact me from the site... here is the link: http://www.mikesfaith.com
If you find a church that can agree with my statements then you will have a good one. In my opinion of course.
usualy a church will have its service schedual posted on the door or outside. Just walk right in... if you are made to feel welcome stick around a while and get to know them a bit... if not go on and try another. No one should be excluded from any Christian Service. And all should be made welcome...

I know what you need to do at the Catholic Church. You go to the Parish Center, and register as a new Parishioner. They will ask you Questions such as vital statistics, etc and once you are registered, you will be given all the info. about attending Mass and whatever else you need. You will be welcomed.

Just walk in sit down and enjoy. I am Roman Catholic, and I travel allot I have never had a problem. while in University, I did an extensive study on religions for my anthro major. I was welcome everywhere except a Pentecostal Hi-way Holiness church (snake handlers). I wouldn't recommend that one anyway.
