Ok, what I wanna know is if there is a God and he is so "forgiving" why is there a hell? If all one has to do is repent or ask for forgiviness why is hell there? Even if you don't repent or whatever, if you live a good life without doing any bad things you should go to a good place, right? What if we are all wrong and there is nothing after death? What if life is just a big board game and we are actually choosing our own paths because we want to not because it's a "plan" and then gameover? Does anyone else wonder about these things?

If you're dead, how can you spend eternity in Hell? You're either going to live forever or you're not. Which is it Reverend?

One thing that really bothers me is people who claim to be proper, good, Christians, simply because they attent church regularly. During the week, they are selfish, greedy, rude, and egotistical. They look down on those of slighly different religions (even other branches of Christianity). There is a certain branch of Christianity that is becomming more and more predominant in my neighborhood. They follow strict rules that, to me, seem to have nothing to do with God. For example: they cannot wear makeup or jewelry, they dress very conservatively, they cannot watch television or listen to the radio, and they are not permitted to use birth control. I dont mind if they make those decisions and live in that way, but I dont understand why, just because they follow these "rules", they believe they can look down on those who dont, and declare themselvs superior. I believe in God, but I think that He values acceptance, kindness, helpfullness, cooperation, etc...things that these people lack.

Last night I prayed sincerely for an hour, and asked for poverty and disease amongst good innocent people to be gone when I awoke today, when I woke up I fealt great- then I turned on the news and realised that my selfless pleas had gone unanswered. Have I been ignored or is there no one to hear my prayers?

I believe that there is a higher power (come on, look at the world around you and tell me this is all by chance), but nobody, and I mean nobody really knows who he/she/it is. Religion is all about living a good life in order to maintain society.

You see on many sites where they sell things for alters and other magical workings I see these "Amulets" now there amulets are said to help with things like increasing your bond with animals keeping evil away and controlling spirits. I can't really see how you would know if that were true or not.

So what do you think about them?

God in times new roman font is the WORD satanists use to force people to cut off the ring finger because satanists are the bad dons (ie bosses) who think they outrank everyone.
the God in this font is maybe a Lord God Todd who is A King of KINGS and Lord of LORDS but not recoqnized because of Roman jealousy.

So God is their evil code when written in times new roman font.
A God is Lord God Todd the king of KINGS and Lord of LORDS when God is considered a Man and not an evil code.

My husband is a theist and I am agnostic-atheist, but we still celebrate Christmas. Not because of it being Jesus' birthday, but because of the 'spirit of the season', I guess you could say.
To us it is a day to get together with your family and loved ones, especially those that you never see all year because they live far away, catch up with old friends, sending cards just to let someone know you thought of them.
I love shopping for presents, it's a way of showing another that you care and they mean something to you, and knowing how happy they will be to recieve it.
And who doesn't love to GET presents???
And as far as putting up a tree, well for me that is just downright fun!
Basically we celebrate christmas just like most families, except that Jesus and God don't get brought into it.
Does anyone else also do this?

Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian faith who believe in Armaggedon and after that a new paradise on Earth. Although they have strict but good morals, they shun all other religions teaching that you may be destroyed in Armageddon if you are not in "the Truth" as they call it. Although most of them are very good people, they have "disfellowshipped" (excommunicated) some of my family, for heresy. (the heresy being that my family member said that it is wrong to belive that the Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true religion) The rest of my family who are jehovah's witnesses cannot talk or associate with these "disfellowshipped" people at all and i believe this is wrong. Yet much of my family want me to stay with the religion. Although they have good interests for me, I am not sure what to tell them.

And i do not understand the fear. If pple would educate them selves more, they would see what a beautiful religion it is. It saddens me so much that there are so many ignorant and insulting questions and answers here (this also goes for other religions!).
If you have nothing good to say, or are only asking a question or giving an answer to insult and hurt, you better say nothing at all!
Please, try to remember, the ppl behind the pc typing here are real living ppl, with feelings. Those feelings can be hurt!
And thanks for all the other participants here who take the time to pose serious questions and who answer seriously. You are all a big souce of knowledge to me!

Christians prove their own religion wrong. They say that god loves all of "his children" but then hates and condemns people all the time. You're all so stupid. Why don't you get off the fantasy BS and try going to real facts? You all say "god hates homos" and then in the same breath say that everyone is loved by god. You all suck so much, you make no sense. None of you can prove it right. You only hate based on what's different than you. Then you make questions on here asking why gays hate christians? Well you have your answer right there. How dare you call yourselves good people. You all should be the ones who burn in hell.

Average human nature would scorn at this yet God seems to indulge it. Does it happen and if so how can you break it if you have no idea what it is you're trying to break?

adopt some of the Jewish observances and make them Christian?

The Jews have some really fun observances, such as the one where a 16-year-old get lots of money on the birthday. Think of how many more paid holidays we could have in a year.

Apologies to our Jewish friends if I'm getting the age wrong for that one.

Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Kingdom, and He has power over all things;

Who has created death and life that He might try you -which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving ;

Who has created seven heavens in harmony. No incongruity canst thou see in the creation of the Gracious God. Then look again. Seest thou any flaw?

Aye, look again, and yet again, thy sight will only return unto thee confused and fatigued, having seen no incongruity.
