As a parent of a young child, you have every right to ask the priest what he wants to speak to your son about. You can ask this question without seeming paranoid. It is every parents interest to know how people are trying to influence thier child. Also, your son is of an age that he can tell you what goes down in private. When it comes to the kids, you can never be too cautious. Don't worry about looking overprotective or paranoid..if the priest is up to no good, he will know your kid is not vunerable to predators, and if he is just doing his priestly duties it won't matter anyway.Priests are people just the same as the rest of us.

Unfortunately, priests now have a bad reputation when it comes to young boys. But as a mother, you need to follow your gut. Do you know your priest well and if you feel uneasy...ask the priest what he would like to talk to your son about and go with your son. He is still a minor and first and foremost your responsibility. If your priest does not understand this, maybe you should not attend that church. We are to put our trust in God and priests are not God...use your own judgement and if that means disagreeing with a priest, so be it. God will not judge you harshly for trying to protect your son.

If you feel nervous, accompany your son. If the priest is genuinely interested in your son's well-being, he will not have a problem with your being there too.

He shouldn't have a problem with you listening if he's legit. Don't leave him alone with him if you don't trust him. If you're just paranoid because you're catholic, go with him anyway. If he says he wants to talk to him in private, take your son and bolt and never go back.

Report the Priest to the newspaper.
For God's sake don't waste your time reporting it to the Catholic leadership.

TELL ME YOU PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE THIS GUY !!!!!!
He is trying to be a smart as* and I don't appreciate it. If you want to ask a serious question about someones religion, fine. But this is a problem with the Catholic religion that has touched and hurt many, many families and I don't think you should make fun of it.
AND I DON'T THINK THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE ANSWERED AND FED INTO HIS STUPIDITY IS GOOD EITHER.

NEVER leave your son alone with him. Never leave your son alone with anyone you haven't known close and personally for years and TOTALLY trust. It's a shame, but it's a bad, bad world out there.
