Ok, what I wanna know is if there is a God and he is so "forgiving" why is there a hell? If all one has to do is repent or ask for forgiviness why is hell there? Even if you don't repent or whatever, if you live a good life without doing any bad things you should go to a good place, right? What if we are all wrong and there is nothing after death? What if life is just a big board game and we are actually choosing our own paths because we want to not because it's a "plan" and then gameover? Does anyone else wonder about these things?

No, there really isn't a heaven and hell, nor is there a God. The more you read the Bible and the more you study Christianity, the more you will realize that the whole notion of heaven, hell and sin is ridiculous.

The quote below that I found online one day sums up Christianity in a nutshell.

"OK, now let me see if I got this straight, because what it sounds like you're telling me is that God sent His boy to His people so that His people could kill His Boy in order to save them from the wrath of.....God." Author unknown

I think there is a heaven and hell. Hell was originally created for Lucifer and the angels that followed him (1/3 of all angels). To get into heaven, Jesus had to die and ressurrect. Now people from the past, present and furture were allowed to get into heaven. It is very simple. Believe He died on the cross and ressurrected and that he is God. If you do, you get into Heaven. Of course, you ought to be a good person too, because you represent Christianity. If you dont believe, Hell is the only alternative. Its like this: You are with God or you are not. Enemies go to Hell, Allies go to Heaven. Well, if you refuse to accept God, you are an enemy. I like your question: "If all one has to do is repent or ask for forgiviness why is hell there? " Well, many dont repent and ask for forgiveness. Either they fell for another religion, or no religion, or they are just that stubborn. I wonder about God a lot too. Some things are easy to understand, some things are not so easy. You can email me if you like.

I will give you a perspective from Islam: God is forgiving. Hell is a purification of the sins before we enter in Heaven. If there was no heaven, how would there be justice? Some sins can only be forgiven if the person you commited injustice to forgives you. If you live a good life without sin, then you would go to heaven directly.
Let's say that we that we may be wrong. What do you have to lose? Nothing.

heaven and hell

with bodies for the h's and n makes it appear to be a funeral procession. heaven for two people carrying someones dad and hell a man carrying a childs casket alone.
why heaven? cause the orphan gets rights not to be afflicted or hurt.
hell because no one likes losing a child.
thats why hell is said to be bad and heaven although bad has some good connotations.
also why its said we all go to heaven or hell because if hell you were a small child when you died compared to the men and woman of heaven.
so don't expect rewards in either heaven or hell cause you'll be dead.
the 9-11 hijackers were idiots if they expected afterlife rewards the only rewards would be to the survivors.
so don't kill expecting eternal life or heavenly rewards because based upon the fact i am an orphan which people afflict every day there is no rewards ever, only orders eh Herr Hitler?

God told us that we need to repent and accept the sacrifice of Jesus who took our place.

Many people have seen visions or had near death experiences of Heaven or Hell. Do a web search with the key words "near death heaven hell" (over 4 million hits).

God does not just send people to hell. He gives us a choice. If we obey Him, we go to heaven. If not, we go to hell. Its our choice. But He does not desire that anyone should perish. The Bible says "There is no one righteous, not even one" and that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Of course there are people who do good but don't believe in God, but they are still sinners. We all are, and sin separates us from God. Therefore, we cannot go to heaven, where God is, when we die. That is why Jesus gave His live for us. He took our sins and all we have to do is repent, which means- to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life.
So let's say I am wrong, we die and thats it. OK. But what if I am right and you never repented? You go to hell. I don't know about you but I'd rather "waste my life following a bogus religion," than finding out that bogus religion was right, after its too late.

Of course there is a heaven and a hell!

But you don't need to look very far for those! Just look "around" you! Just think how the middle class and wealthy Americans live...and of the children that are dying in Palestine or Africa... or any other place where children are dying from starvation, disease or as war "casualties"... everyday!

A lot of people believe that you are living in both right now. And what you make out of your time on this planet is what you get.In other words if you like everything and are happy all the time you are in heaven. If you are a jerk and are miserable all the time you are in hell. So I say make the best of everything you can. Just in case.

I do, honey. Of course not the hell part. I am used to it since my Master is the CEO. But life is a big board game, you move as slow or as fast your dice shows, so you just have to learn how to throw it well just so it comes up with the number you want.
WEll in my case, I don't think heaven will have room for me, so I'll just enjoy it down here for now.

If you believe in Jesus and God, and their enemy- the Devil, then, yes, it is Christian, Orthodox, Catholic, Lutheran, and other religions that believe in God to believe in heaven and hell.
