I've been praying for Iraq since 2003. I'm sure others have also. Yet conditions seem to be getting wose and worse. Do we need a worldwide Pray Day?does prayer really help?

In matters political Islam is a system of despotism at home and aggression abroad. The Prophet commanded absolute submission to the imâm. In no case was the sword to be raised against him. The rights of non-Moslem subjects are of the vaguest and most limited kind, and a religious war is a sacred duty whenever there is a chance of success against the "Infidel". Medieval and modern Mohammedan, especially Turkish, persecutions of both Jews and Christians are perhaps the best illustration of this fanatical religious and political spirit.

A.) The tens of thousands of people dying in Iraq.
B.) The hundreds of thousands of people which are dying in Africa from war and genocide.
C.) The millions of people who are dying around the world from aids.
D.) The millions of American's accross the country who cant afford medical insurance and are dying because of it.
E.) Poverty in American and around the world.
F.) The destruction of the global environment.
...
Z.) Two dudes getting married.

Obviously the answer is 'Z' because this is the only issue which i regularly hear the moral majority, and by that i mean Christians, talk about.

In my opinion morals developed out of a desire to not sin, so there is no difference in the two. What's your opinion?

I was going to ask if Atheists believe in sin, but noticed the question had already been asked. In reading one of the responses, someone said that she did not believe anything was wrong on principle (as long as it didn't hurt anyone), but did believe in moral errors. What's the difference?

(Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just trying to learn.)

My girlfriend is devoting a lot of time to this 'spiritual' movement and it is costing her a lot of money. I am concerned that her changes may have a negative impact on our relationship. I think she is becoming brainwashed. Is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar a god, or what? Should I be concerned that this is a cult of some sort?

How can you hate something you don’t believe exists?

Also, do you understand what an Atheist is? Do you know that it is someone who just doesn’t believe in god AT ALL? Someone who does believe in god, but has his doubts, is not and Atheist.

That’s different. Now if you think that everyone truly knows there is a god deep down, then you don’t believe there is any such thing as an Atheist. You should stop using the term “Atheist” and “Unbeliever” to describe people, because by your understanding they aren’t truly Atheists and unbelievers. ;)

I do not understand why I see these posts ' caught between Christianity and Catholicism' there is no difference. Catholics believe that Jesus was the son of God and died for our sins just as Christians also believe that. What is the difference? Catholics can answer if they wish, this is for those who think there is a different. Try to make me understand, with the knowledge that it won't work.

One side says they were just praying.

The other says they were praying before-hand, but then separated (6 total) to each exit on the plane, two asked for seatbelt extenders and did not use them.

Were they probing to see what they could do before people would get so nervous they called the fuzz?
Were they acting this way to make it so others could do these same things without getting reported because people would be labeled racists for reporting it?
Were they simply praying, and all the testimony from passengers and crew is just a (Phil Collins said it best) pack of lies? LOL...
