Excuse me, I have followed this since inside the airport, for those of you who just read the news. This guy complained that the people were putting Christmas decorations to the Menorah and he saw that as a bad thing. I had no problem with any Jewish, Muslim or any other religion since the airport is big enough, I have a problem with people saying, who cares, just another tree, how can you support that one, I say that again, one single asswipe rabbi can cause so much crap just because his own personal opinion, how can anyone here support this?

I fully agree.
I don't object to other people celebrating their festivals or holidays (Holy Days).
Maybe he should go to any Arab country and complain about Ramadan

I don't agree with your view or report.
The Rabbi simply asked that a menorah be displayed with the Christmas tree. Hanuka begins December 15. This request was made in October which left ample time for SeaTac Airport officials to respond. Their lack of decision-making pressed the Rabbi to say the "L" word (lawsuit). By doing so, airport officials made a decision that sent waves of anger and misunderstanding through the Jewish community and the Christian/non-christian community by removing the Christmas trees. The Rabbi was caught in the cross-fire and I think the airport officials may owe him an apology. His intent was "for" his people. Your outrage is misdirected.
By the way how do you know the Rabbi has a racist mouth? How do you know the Rabbi is ignorant? I saw him interviewed several times and the last was with Bill O'Reilly on FOX News in which he stated, as he stated in all the other interviews, he was shocked that the Christmas trees came down. He did not ask that the menorah replace the trees. He was highly cognitive in his responses and seemed to have superior intelligence.
You haven't covered your facts very well and so the question arises, are you guilty of spreading hate and anger that does little to add to the "reason for the season". Perhaps you should apologize to the Rabbi?
By the way, I am not a Jew.

I too support freedom of speed.
**In regards to the christmas tree and rabbi incident..some people just always feel the need to make something out of nothing...very similar you know what else has something out of nothing.. the Jewish miracle where the menorah burned magically for eight days when it only had oil for one..
Don't pay any attention to one man's need to cause further seperation between creed, race and religion and at a time when we should be celebrating and getting along as one. I'm sure many Jewish people and Christians could care less whether they saw a menorah or a lit up tree.
Good q tho..
Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah..or to be politically correct Happy RamaHanuKwanzMas
p.s. to please the Rabbi maybe we should fuse together a tree, menorah, and other holiday symbols and hang them everywhere.
***HOW IS THE CHRISTMAS TREE A RELIGIOUS SYMBOL TO BEGIN WITH>?***

Obviously you read the Stormfront version of the story.
He said from the beginning that he didn't want the trees down--all he asked for was to add a menorah to the display.
He never threatened a lawsuit, he never asked for the trees to be removed, he even offered the menorah to the airport free of charge.
The airport issued a completely false press release on the Friday, knowing that the Rabbi couldn't set the record straight until the Monday, by which time meatheads like you would already have started fomenting hatred over the issue.
The airport should be ashamed of themselves, and so should you.

Actually yeah I can believe that because I was actually shocked to hear that a Rabbi raised a fuss about it. It's never been a big fuss between Jews and Christians over Christmas and Hanukkah so if it was really over dramatization from the ACLU it doesn't shock me at all.
I live in Philly, one of the biggest most diverse cities in the world and there has never been a big issue between the 2 holidays. In fact, the Jewish store owners here put up Christmas decorations as well as Hanukkah displays. MANY Jewish families here celebrate Christmas too and the Christians dont fuss when they do either. I think people are just getting needlessly sensitive anymore but I wouldn't be shocked if someone took the publicity ball and ran with it.

Actually, there was no menorah, and he was threatening to sue them if they didn't put one up. I thought it was rather silly myself. I can understand why he wanted to be represented as well, but to go as far as threatening a law suit just to show a menorah says alot about his character. The airport announced that they would remove the Christmas tree because if they were to add the menorah, they would have to represent all religions. I think they did it just a teeny bit for spite too against the guy, lol.
As a Muslim, I think the Christmas trees are quite pretty and wouldn't have a problem at all with seeing them around. They're festive and put you in a good mood. Takes a chunk out of your wallet no doubt, but festive nonetheless.

no longer a element. you need to have study that out the following someplace. The connection with Jerimiah isn't valid. Verse 5 has the major -- that's talking of hewing down a tree and carving an idol to be gilded or silvered, and placed as a "god" for worship. This has no longer something to do with a Christmas tree as you and that i comprehend it. The countries round Israel had some undesirable idol "gods" whom they worshipped. The custom of adorning a tree comes right now from the entire Reformer Himself, Martin Luther and from a German Play about Adam and Eve in Paradise.

A Christmas Tree is a decoration not a religious symbol. There is a difference and I didn't understand what the BIG deal was as far as the Rabbi was concerned.

Speaking of ignorant... Have you actually READ the report? Or are you just vomiting filth for the hell of it? The airport took the trees down ON THEIR OWN. Sure, the rabbi was misguided. Christmas trees are about as Christian as the easter bunny or the tooth fairy. But if you want to get angry at anyone, get angry with the airport for caving so quickly.
