The landlord just ignores us. We told him that it's wrong for him to enable people to shack up and live in sin.

according to the Bible, people do 'bad' things (sin) because its human nature to try to do pleasurable carnal things. and satan knows our weaknesses so hes constantly tempting us to pull us away from God. sin is what seperates us from God.

according to the non-believers perspective, why do people do bad things? isn't it more 'logical' that you can just command yourself to not do things that you don't want to? an example is an obese person, why don't they just stop eating if they want to lose weight? why would some people rather get their stomach 'stapled' to cut back their appetite? If you say people like to do things that feel good/comforting, wouldn't the goal (being that they lose a lot of weight) to be healthy, more attractive, and more energy be more pleasurable of a thought?

i don't know if anybody will understand what i'm trying to say, give it a try though plz thanks!

I always hear about Isalm "the religion" and whenever I debate about Christianity, I hear that the Bible never calls Christianity "a religion".

Could it be that God doesn't want religion from us, but rather a relationship? Or is more important to adhere to a "religion"?

I recently read a question from a woman who is in a marriage that any sane person would abandon. She only stays married to her husband because God says that divorce is sinful. Her husband used to hit her and only stopped because he was sent to jail for it. He doesn’t care for their daughter at all. When she is working and he is supposed to be watching the child, he doesn’t feed her and doesn’t change her diaper. He calls her (the wife) worthless, even though she is the main breadwinner of the family. How can anyone believe in a god that would make this woman believe that she should stay with a man like this?

I've often heard that hadiths shouldn't be taken so seriously because of some of the fallacies mentioned in it and sorry to say, some things that just sound really wierd.

i.e. Sun setting in mud puddle.
i.e. Satan peeing in your ear when you fall asleep in prayer

If that is so, why not just ban them all together?

It seems like they are still quoted a good bit. Why? What benefit can be gotten from them?

Which Laws did Jesus(a.s) "abolish" or "done away with"?
When Jesus clearly stated that he did not come to do away with the Law. When Jesus instructed his followers to follow the law.
Coz there are still Old testament laws that you hold on to.

They say they are the homes of God, Allah, Jehovah, etc and that they work on behalf of this (alleged) individual and speak in his name - so why not take responsibility for his "actions"???

I really dont understand it...

Its like Gods Storm Troopers are on here and giving us a thumbs down for asking a serious question about Christianity is like them getting a thumbs up with God....

I do not beleive in YOUR version of a God, I do not beleive in the rules set by the bible to the letter...

So why do Christians feel they can shove their beleifs down our throats but we cannot have the luxery to do the same back...

Unless there are a bunch of them on here who do not offer tollerance and acceptance of other people and their beleifs...

Just do me a favour... just because someone does not like or beleive in your views doesn't mean you got the right to dump on them.

(i'm asking this fully in the knowledge the God Squad will probably report this as abuse, and by doing so will make my point entirely)

My idea is to have a few people in a "book club" where the only book is the Bible. It would be like we would have a weekly passage assigned and over the weekend we would discuss it via email ( unless someone in the group wanted to build the online forum, I don't know how to do that). Anyone could join regardless of religion. What do you think?

So, I know that there are differences in the Koran and the Bible as far as which son Abraham was asked to sacrifice. We, as Christians believe that son was Issac and that Jews are God's choosen people. I know that the Koran says Ishmael was that son.

So, my question is this, if Ishmael was the "son of promise" (because that's what who we believe Issac was), then why did God send so many prophets to Israel and only one to Arabia?

Does he want us to give and give to Him with no hope of his giving anything back to us? Does He want us to follow a set of rules?
Does He want us to love Him and seek to know and understand Him?

What's your opinion?
