It's probably neither, although 6.4 billion is a LOT closer than 6000. However, they keep finding evidence that pushes the age of the earth farther and farther back, so it's likely even older than that.

Personally I belive the earth is a couple of billions of years old.
But I believe that the human race itself is only 6,000 years old.
Yes, I think God created the world long before He created people to live on it. And that the 6,000 years is the age of mankind, not the earth itself.
If evolution is correct, taking millions and millions of years for us to walk upright and make fire - that's embarassing. That would only show how slow and stupid people are.
But if scripture is right, even though the earth is billions of years old, if the human race is only 6,000 years old, then we are an intelligent and very quick learning creatures.
To compare - millions of years to use a fork and knife...
or just 6,000 years to go from banging rocks together to walking on the moon...
I'd rather go with humans only 6,000 years old on a billion year old planet.

Man has been on Earth for 6032 years. You get that by adding up the ages of the fathers at the time of the birth of the sons that form the heritage line to Christ.
Earth for about 11,000 years, as one day for God equals 1000 years for man.
Radiometric dating is a theory without any empirical data to back it up, such as an independent means to confirm it.
In that connection, the so called missing link fossils may actually be the skulls of the children of the fallen angels. Being a mix of human genes with that of being whose basic form was energy, they were larger and distorted.

Carbon dating can prove the age of the earth. The religions can't even prove that there is a man living in a cloud.

6000 years.
Radioactive dating of active volcanos often give results of a million years. is that proof? no, but enough chips in the 6 billion year earth, and I got swayed
