I really dont understand it...

Its like Gods Storm Troopers are on here and giving us a thumbs down for asking a serious question about Christianity is like them getting a thumbs up with God....

I do not beleive in YOUR version of a God, I do not beleive in the rules set by the bible to the letter...

So why do Christians feel they can shove their beleifs down our throats but we cannot have the luxery to do the same back...

Unless there are a bunch of them on here who do not offer tollerance and acceptance of other people and their beleifs...

Just do me a favour... just because someone does not like or beleive in your views doesn't mean you got the right to dump on them.

(i'm asking this fully in the knowledge the God Squad will probably report this as abuse, and by doing so will make my point entirely)

Actually, i'm an agnostic NOT an athiest...

and even so... atleast athiests dont answer philosophical questions with, 'theres a god there and he loved you' athiests do generally give a straight answer.

I understand your disappointment...The point is that there are two kinds of Christians: 1) bigots, 2) enlightened, tolerant Christians. Bigots are those who jibe and disrepect people with a different point of view, giving thumbs down; they have a wall all around their brain and there's no way to break through that wall. Those are unfortunately the majority. Enlightened and tolerant Christians instead, are those open to dialogue, but unfortunately they're very few, yet, better than nothing;)....So, my friend, don't get mad if some bigots jibe you, keep walking your path knowing that there are lots of tolerant people out there, among Christians, Jews, Muslims and non-religious too. Peace.

Not everyone who claims to be a christians is a christian. And some who claim they are do not practice the walk. I personally don't waste my time with the idiots on here no matter what their relgious beleifs etc. I try to be patient, honest, straightforward and clear in my answers and I am certainly tolerant of everyone's beleifs. After all, God gave everyone free will choice to choose their beleifs, and if we cannot respect that choice we cannot respect the God who gave us that choice. However, I will stand out against those who would inflict themselves on others in harmful or destructive ways and that includes abuse. Verbal or otherwise. There is never a good enough reason to abuse others. It is not God's way as God is love and expects his people to be the same. That includes many things such as patience and understanding for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but spiritual powers. So this constant struggle with christians, muslims, jews, athiests, agnostics, etc. Is WRONG! (Hope that comes across as straightforward and impartial as I meant it).

You are an agnostic, I am a chrisitan, no reason we can't get along if we both have the patience and understanding that each of us is entitled to our beleifs.

I am agnostic but I was brought up Catholic. I have and continue to learn about other cultures and religions to try to gain a better understanding of others. However I believe that you ask the wrong question. Christians may be judgemental but so are believers of all faiths, your choice to single out this specific religion has been done without thought. All religions have extremes and people who judge but it is individuals that do so and not the actual religion. We should all try to respect each others beliefs rather than change each others opinion. Perhaps the question you should ask is why is there such little tolerance between believers of different religions especially since Judaism, Christianity and Islam all stem from the same origins! Variety is what makes life worth living!!

I've been called allot of things..Jesus freak, Bible thumper zealot..and now i guess i am a member of the God squad..but i don't see this as abuse..Here is my answer..

I have (1)FAITH that the bible is the living word of God..i truly believe every word of it..

(2)God gave us salvation through his Son JESUS..so believing ALL the Word has to say I have salvation and the responsibility of telling others the good news..

(3)using the Bible as a buffet picking and choosing what a person wants to believe and excluding what a person dislikes that person is headed for hell...i may irritate you but it doesn't hurt you..if what i believe is wrong i have hurt no man but if your wrong ..well..I don't want anyone to go to hell...

so if you have a serious question please ask me...i will answer it to the fullest of my ability i have the Book with ALL the answers....

i fuss and tug at you.sometimes i get frustrated and shove a little to hard...and i pray and pray..but im not angry at you (4)i'm angry at the devil for deceiving you i will not can not waver from my straight and narrow path
I know hell is real..i stood at the gates..i felt the heat and smelled burning flesh...i don't want anyone going there..

yeah I know christians can seem pretty intolerant and generally close-minded. Some are. Some are really religious (as in like the rules of life but have no idea of who God is). That makes em mean.
There's a difference between being tolerant and letting people make their own choices and being run over and not being tolerated yourself. There are a lot of people who thumbs down people who believe in God. That's not tolerance either. Tolerance to everyone except the christians? What about nazis who try to stuff their views down people's throats? just a thought.
And thumbs up and down are an opinion and people get to have those. It's part of this grand tolerance thing. And I'm a christian and I didn't thumbs down you for an honest question. Honest great? People who "ask" to stuff down agnostic views down christian's throats? Thumbs down. Let's all stop stuffing.

I am pleased that you have asked and I am glad of the opportunity to answer. Most Christians, there are always the zealots that have nil tolerance, have no problem with atheist or agnostics. The problem that they have is the lack of tolerance for Christians shown by a lot of people.
This lack of tolerance shows itself in the use of disgusting language and insults at their beliefs. Under these circumstances you and any other would get an abuse report. Another annoyance with non believers is that while decrying the faith of others then enjoy without question the benefits of Christianity. For example the holidays of Easter, Christmas and what used to be called whitsun. I do not doubt that you exchange presents with your friends and family and wish them a happy Christmas. Further, in the name of Christmas you will go to parties and have plenty to drink. All this in the name of Christmas. Families have their children baptised and get married in church for the simple reason that they want things to look right. They never have any further contact with the church beyond these events. If you really are not a Christian then you should not celebrate Christmas or use the church for appearances.
I liked your question as it did not and could not upset anybody especially fair minded real Christians.
Enjoy your holiday at Christmas time, stay soba and have a happy new year.

Yahoo gives us all the opportunity to view our opinions and to show that we agree or disagree with others. No harm in that.
So you don't agree with a large section of the answers and they don;t agree with you. No problem...
It only becomes a problem when you take their attitude or thoughts into your heart and mind and let it worm its way into your soul.
They are only viewpoints. They shouldn't be able to reach out and kill you.
They should sometimes make you take stock of your life and change your viewpoint a little- doesn't have to be to their perspective though!

Christians that judge and prosecute others are NOT true Christians. Jesus would have not wanted his followers to be narrow-minded assholes! Those ones follow the bible too literally, the bible was written a trillion years ago times have changed! but God's heart hasn't, no matter what the bible says the main point is God LOVES

We REAL Christians are loving and accepting of everyone and their beliefs/sexuality/religion.

I don`t want to be offencive but i think i`ts because this category attracts the fanatics and also the bigots and racists .thinking sensibly i know it can`t be all Christians who behave in this unchristian way ,but i have to admit that's how it feels on here .I have lost count of how many times i`ve been reported in this section, for an answer that was nowhere near as insulting as the question but like i said i think its like some soap box on here where the fanatics feel it`s safe for them to do their ranting
