I beleive the Earth is around 6000 years old. The Bible says that he made trees, he didn't just plant seeds. So why could God not make the Earth already with supplies of oil? After all, he can do anything.

Of course, the earth is a lot older than 6000 years. Oil derives either from primordial hydrocarbons, or from animal or vegetable matter trapped in rocks hundreds of millions of years ago.
Postscript: I see a number of responses referring to the flood. Never happened, as can be proved by half a dozen separate technologies. One such is the existence of written records from three different civilizations, dating from before, during, and after the supposed time of the flood. Somehow, none of those peoples noticed that they had been wiped out. Curious.

Professor Gold thought thaty oil might actually be made out of water and carbon deep in the earth from reactions in rosks during plate folding. The general consensus is that it is from decaying plant and animal matter. Some recent research points towards it actually being from bacterial sludge on the ocean floor that has been trapped. I am not sure who isa right. I think you were directing the question at young earth creationists. I hope I did not spoil it for you.

Oil was put on earth to test man. It's all a test to see if you believe in....hahahahahahhaha, I couldn't get thru it with a straight face. It's too hard. Oil comes from jesus' tears or something. If you want the religious view of it you aren't going to get a good response. In science a hypothosis is formed, another scientist test and retests the hypothosis, then it is tested and retested with a control goup and a test group....blah blah blah, you know how science works. The religious nuts don't believe in the scientific method. That's just crazy talk. "Believe what I say or I will smack you in the head with something", that is the religious way. Trust me, the dinosaurs and oil is only 6000 years old, believe that or I will rape and pillage your village.

oil is proof of a FLOOD
Oil is made from all the animals and people that were CRUSHED and CONDENCED from a world wide FLOOD...
The flood happened rather QUICKLY... not over millions of years... there is more evidance FOR a young earth than an old one...
about the Bible:
In Gen. God used a flood to destroy the population which rejected him... God gave them plenty of time to come back to him they chose not too...
God could have said "DIE" and they would have all died... so then why did God use a Flood? maybe, because a flood would leave evidance where mere words would not... this evidance is what we use in our cars every day...
thanks
